How to update Ubuntu Linux?
Do you need the latest Ubuntu Linux software? You don’t need to be a professional in Linux. In this article, you will learn how to update Ubuntu Linux. There are two ways to update Ubuntu: using the command line for those who use the Linux terminal or using Software Update for those who prefer to update graphically.
At first, click on Show Applications from the desktop to update the firmware.

Ubuntu releases
Ubuntu was the first operating system to commit to scheduled releases on a predictable cadence, every six months, starting in October 2004. In 2006 we decided that every fourth release, made every two years, would receive long-term support for large-scale deployments. This is the origin of the term LTS for stable, maintained releases.
Then search for Software in the search box and click on Software Updater in the displayed programs.
This section will first search for updates for your installed programs, then show a list of available updates and you can select any program you want to update and click on Install Now.
A window for entering the password will be shown to you, enter your password.
The installation and update process will start and wait until the end to complete.
