How to change Bluetooth name in Windows?

I have more or less encountered the issue of changing the Bluetooth name in Windows 10. This issue does not often happen (perhaps a few times), but there are still friends who want to change the name of Bluetooth in the system. Change Windows 10 yourself. If you want to do this and don’t know how this article can guide you in this direction. Please follow the tutorial until the end.

The name of your Windows 10 Bluetooth adapter is usually needed when you want to receive a file from another Bluetooth device or when you want to connect your phone to your Windows 10.

In Windows 10, you can see the name of your Bluetooth adapter by going to Settings app > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices. (This is if your computer or laptop is equipped with a Bluetooth adapter, otherwise, you will not see Bluetooth).

If you want to change the default Bluetooth adapter name in your Windows 10, remember that the Bluetooth name is nothing but your Windows 10 system name. In other words, Windows 10 will automatically set its Windows 10 name as the Bluetooth name. That’s why you can’t change the Bluetooth name on your own in Windows 10. You must also change the system name if you want to change the Bluetooth name. In short, you cannot set different names for Windows 10 computers and your Bluetooth adapter on the system. In this article, we will change the Windows 10 computer name in two ways:

Go to Settings, click on the System icon, and click on the last option, About, on the left panel, as shown in the image below. Click on the Rename This pc button from the right panel.

In the text box of the image below, enter the desired new name for Windows 10 and Bluetooth and click Next.

Then, for this change to be applied in Windows, you must restart the system, so click the Restart now button to perform the reset; if you click the Restart later button not to restart the system, the old name will still be used in the system and Bluetooth.

In the second method, you need to click on Search in Windows 10 or press the Windows key + R to display the Run window. In any case, it doesn’t matter, then type system. Cpl and enter to display the System properties window.

To change the computer’s name, you must enter the Computer name tab as shown below and click the Change button.

Another form will open exactly like the one below. Enter the new name in the computer name field and click the OK button from the bottom of the window.

OK, the System properties form. The message ” You must restart your computer to apply these changes ” will be displayed.

If you click Restart now, the system will restart, the computer name and Bluetooth name will change, and the task about Restart later is also clear. Until the system is restarted, the new name will not be assigned to the computer and Bluetooth, and no change will be applied.

Before restarting, if you have an open file or program, save it and click the Restart now button.
