Review Of PC Without MSI Pro 22X 10M Case [With Video Review]
With Telecommuting Becoming The Dominant Way Of Working Around The World, Having At Least One Computer In Every Home Is Essential.
Of course, not all of us can afford to buy an iMac, so let’s look at the MSI Pro 22X 10M economic computer.
It’s been almost a year and a half since the corona spread worldwide, and most other businesses have been able to move fully to the “telecommuting” system.
Even schools, universities and training centres offer their classes online; So having at least one computer or laptop in every home has become mandatory.
The previous article was updated on September 13 with the addition of a video review of a computer without an MSI Pro 22X 10M case.
The bitter truth is that with the rampant rise in the dollar’s value in recent years, desktops and laptops have become a luxury and somewhat elusive commodity. Today we want to talk about “versatile” or “caseless” or All-in-One desktops.
Naturally, we all like to do our daily chores at home, behind our computer desk, and on Apple’s large, high-quality iMac screen, but such an experience is not achievable for most of us.
In such a situation, most of the attention is focused on economic computers. Computers that allow us to work remotely at the lowest cost. The MSI Pro 22X 10M Versatile PC also tries to provide the minimum at a reasonable price. As its name suggests, the computer has a 22-inch (21.5 x exactly) touch screen and is powered by Intel’s 10th generation Comet Lake chips. The Pro 22X, 10M PC, comes in a variety of hardware from Core i3 to Core i7; But what the guest was looking for, it uses the Core i5 chip and is considered a mid-range model.
The MSI Pro 22X 10M isn’t cheap, but it does have some sleeve tricks that can catch your eye.
The MSI Pro 22X 10M caseless computer entered the global market a long time ago but only recently sold in Iran. In this review, we want to answer whether the MSI Pro 22X 10M is worth buying at a price of about 27 million tomans or we should go to other models and even other types of personal computers. Check out the MSI Pro 22X 10M computer.
MSI Pro 22X 10M video review
Design and build quality of MSI Pro 22X 10M
As always, we start the review with the design and build quality of the device. Naturally, considering the Pro 22X 10M price tag, we did not expect a slim and sleek body like Apple’s new iMac. All the internal components are located behind the display, so the Pro 22X 10M is slightly thicker than today’s caseless computers.
If you consider the large, rough and V-shaped base of the device, the Pro 22X 10M will occupy something about 21 cm from the width of your desk; Of course, the device itself is not very thick, and a large percentage of this 21 cm goes back to its base.
You can replace the base of the device just by unscrewing the four screws. MSI Pro 22X 10M uses VESA standard mount; So you can use other standard bases. You can even completely detach the base and attach the computer to the wall; This indicates that stores and salons are the main target markets for MSI-free PCs. If you want to use the standard base of the device, you can pass all the cables through the middle of the base so that the appearance of your desk does not mess up, and you can manage the cables to some extent.
The Pro 22X 10M 22-inch display has narrow bezels, But its design can not be considered “borderless”.
The computer without MSI case is available in black and white, But we had the white model of the device for review. If we want to look at the front of the device visually and aesthetically, we prefer the black model; Because in the white model, there are two edges around the screen: one is the black edge of the screen cover, and the other is the white edge of the plastic body; In the black model, however, the boundary between the two margins is not very clear.
Except for the base, the Pro 22X 10M body is made entirely of plastic. White matte plastic has a lot of power in absorbing fingerprints and grease; So if you have a lot of obsession with keeping the device clean, we suggest you skip the white model and go for the black model. MSI introduces PC / ABS as the plastic used in the body and says that by adding BPADP and 80% polycarbonate to the body, the PC 22X 10M caseless case is highly durable and non-flammable.
MSI says that using metal plates and chassis inside the Pro 22X 10M computer and increasing strength helps transfer heat from the body better, dissipate static electricity from the parts, and absorb the magnetic field of the outside and inside of the device.
According to MSI, absorbing the magnetic field of the computer’s external space prevents damage to its hardware components. We will discuss the device’s cooling system and its effect on performance stability in the hardware and performance section.
Unfortunately, MSI Pro 22X 10M does not have a webcam; Of course, apparently, it is possible to buy the device as an option with a separate webcam; So if you are attending online meetings or classes, you should consider this option and prepare your webcam while buying a computer without an MSI case.
MSI Pro 22X 10M ports and connections
MSI Economic Computer is really complete in terms of ports! On the back of the device, there is a sea of different ports that make it possible to connect the Pro 22X 10M to any other device. On the back of the device, HDMI input and output port, Serial port, two RJ45 network ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports with 5 Gbps bandwidth, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, 3.5mm headphone output, and microphone input are visible.
Although not useful for 99% of users, having two network ports gives you a lot of flexibility; Especially if you have several modems at home. HDMI input also helps you use this device as a monitor for your dual computer or even connect your game console to it.
The COM or Serial port is also one of the oldest ways of connecting, which, if you are familiar with it, means that you are at least entering the fourth decade of your life. Currently, we can only use the COM port as a barcode reader connection; This suggests that stores are one of the main target markets for MSI-free PCs.
In addition to the rear ports, on the left edge of the device and above the power switch, there is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port with MSI Super Charge technology (ability to charge other devices in Sleep mode), a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A and an SD card reader If you want to connect your flash drive or phone to the computer, you do not need to go to the back of the computer.
Do not worry about wireless connection; Because the Pro 22X has both built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; Of course, the MSI caseless computer supports the ubiquitous Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 standards instead of the newer Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 standards.
In terms of variety and number of ports, the Pro 22X 10M is really perfect!
One of the most appealing parts of the Pro 22X, which MSI also advertises, is its elementary scalable storage memory with Rapid Upgrade capability. At the device’s bottom edge, a sliding door opens with two screws, allowing you to upgrade the device’s 2.5-inch memory.
In addition to the 256GB of NVMe SSD memory, the device also had a terabyte Toshiba hard drive that we could replace with a faster SSD or hard drive; Of course, Rapid Upgrade is available most MSI-free computers in recent years and is not new. Nevertheless, it is a practical possibility; Replacing or upgrading storage memory on All-in-One computers is usually a nightmare.
MSI Pro 22X 10M keyboard and mouse
Like all caseless PCs, the MSI comes with a keyboard and mouse set in the same box as the Pro 22X 10M, so you don’t have to worry about buying accessories. An MSI caseless computer can purchase with a wired or wireless keyboard and mouse. Wireless samples have a better build quality. The mouse does not need to be explained. We deal with a straightforward mouse with an optical sensor with no special and exciting features.
The keyboard has better conditions and is suitable for typing; Why do keys have so much depth to move, and their arrangement is not standard. Several function keys such as Page Up, Page Down or Home and End have been removed, and several other keys, such as the four main arrow keys and the Ctrl key, have small dimensions.
In addition, by holding down the Fn key and pressing the F1 to F12 keys, you can perform a series of secondary tasks such as increasing or decreasing the volume, controlling the music playing, and so on.
MSI Pro 22X 10M display and speakers
MSI Pro 22X uses a 22-inch display; Of course, the exact size of the screen is 21.5 inches, but it has been rounded in the registration. The 21.5-inch display uses a touchscreen LCD panel with IPS technology and offers a Full HD resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. A simple calculation shows that there are about 100 pixels per inch of the screen; We consider such a resolution suitable for an economical computer.
One of the outstanding features of the Pro 22X 10M display is its touch. This monitor can detect up to 10 touches simultaneously; Of course, the Windows environment is not very optimistic for touch use, even on such a large screen; But in any case, the touch screen has its own uses.
MSI engineers have used a glossy display coating to improve the quality of touch interaction.
In the tests we performed, the average brightness of the display in its various parts was about 178 nits. It does not score well in terms of maximum brightness, and due to the glossy cover of the screen, it is better to place it away from windows and direct light to see the screen’s content well. The minimum brightness of the display was about 9.5 nits, which is not good and is not suitable for working at night or in dark environments.
MSI Pro 22X 10M display does not have any special light leakage, and the background light distribution is relatively uniform.
If you set the display settings to sRGB or Cinema, accurate colours will produce, but you will have to deal with low light.
You can change the device’s colour profile with the display settings button on the back of the device. In tests performed with CalMAN software, we found that the sRGB and Cinema profiles show the most accurate colours. The Designer profile simply increases the contrast and brightness and cools the colours drastically; As the colour display error increases dramatically. Between sRGB and Cinema profiles, the sRGB profile has less error and more natural colours, and if you use this mode, the Pro 22X 10M display, in general, can give you good, fairly accurate colours.

* All the numbers mentioned in the table above have been obtained in the laboratory.
There are two compartments on the back of the device, below which are the device’s stereo speakers. MSI uses two dual-speaker speakers in its case-free computer, playing stereo sound together from behind the computer. If your computer desk is where the device sticks to the wall, the sound will be propagated in the environment after hitting the wall and so-called “amplified”.
In general, the Pro 22X 10M speakers do not have a loud sound, and if you turn up the volume too much, you will hear a slight distortion and distortion in their sound. These two speakers are suitable for basic tasks such as holding meetings or listening to podcasts, and if you want to watch movies or listen to a lot of music on your computer, consider buying headphones or a pair of speakers.
Hardware performance of MSI Pro 22X 10M
The MSI Pro 22X 10M All-in-One PC is sold with 10th generation and 65 watt Intel chips in the Iranian market. This computer can purchase one of the G6400 chips or a series of Core i3 10100, Core i5 10400 and Core i7 10700 chips. Among MSI’s essential and useful features are upgrading CPU, RAM, and storage memory; This feature can greatly increase the device’s useful life.
The Pro 22X 10M PC with a 14-nanometer Core i5-10400 chip comes with 8GB of single-channel and not-so-fast DDR4-2400 RAM from Silicon Power, a 1TB Toshiba hard drive, and 256GB of SSD storage on a Westerly SSD. Unfortunately, there is no separate GPU, and GPUs are powered by Intel’s integrated UHD 630 module.
The 14-nanometer Core i5-10400 chip uses 6 cores and 12 strands, and Intel promotes a base frequency of 2.90 GHz, a single-core turbo frequency of 4.30 GHz and a multi-core of 4.00 GHz and 12 MB of L3 cache. On paper, the power consumption of the 10400 chip at base frequency will be 65 watts.
The 10th generation Intel chip supports a maximum of 41.6 GB / s of DDR4-2666 RAM, But the DDR4-2400 RAM used in the MSI computer can achieve a maximum bandwidth of 18.75 GB / s for data exchange with the chip.
As mentioned earlier, the MSI All-in-One PC does not use a separate graphics processor and relies solely on the integrated and not-so-powerful UHD Graphics 630 graphics. The processor achieves a maximum frequency of 1.10 GHz and supports a 4K monitor with a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
MSI All-in-One PC SSD memory uses an NVMe controller, But it uses only two PCIe paths; An issue that affects memory speed.

The 65-watt Core i5-10400 chip outperforms even more powerful laptop models such as the Apple M1 and Core i7-10750H in terms of CPU-based multitasking. Still, as expected in the discussion of graphics processing, it shows disappointing performance. Thus, the MSI Pro 22X 10M All-in-One PC will be a good choice for everyday use or light graphic work with Photoshop; But it will not handle heavy graphics-centric processing.

To evaluate the performance stability and temperature of the MSI All-in-One PC, we ran the CineBench R23 benchmark continuously for 30 minutes.
The Core i5-10400 chip works exactly as promised on the All-in-One MSI computer. The chip offers a frequency of around 4,200 to 4,300 MHz in the single-core test and 4,000 MHz in the multi-core test and has a very stable performance thanks to the efficient MSI cooling system.
Power consumption measure`s at 15 and 65 watts in single-threaded and multi-threaded tests, respectively, and the chip temperature never exceeded 90 degrees Celsius.
The MSI Pro 22X 10M All-in-One PC uses a cooling fan exceeding 2800 rpm in the multidisciplinary test and does not hear annoying noises.
The Pro 22X 10M caseless system, despite its name, is not designed for graphic-focused professional applications; We used Blender and HandBrake software to illustrate this point.

Conclusion
The MSI Pro 22X 10M All-in-One, or so-called “caseless” computer, is aimed at home users and in stores and salons. The presence of items such as the serial port used for barcode readers these days, as well as the possibility of detaching the base and attaching the device to the wall, indicate that stores have been one of MSI’s goals for this economic computer.
Among the “caseless computers”, and at this price, there is no better model than the Pro 22X 10M.
If you want to buy an All-in-One PC, you will find fewer models in the Pro 22X 10M price range that include NVMe SSD memory, a powerful Core i5 processor, an efficient cooling system, and a high-definition colour display and a sea of different ports. At your disposal.
