Compare Galaxy Z Flip 3 With Galaxy Z Flip 5G

A Few Hours Ago, Samsung Introduced The Galaxy Z Flip 3 As The Successor To The Galaxy Z Flip 5G. What Changes Has Samsung’s New Folding Compared To The Previous Generation?

Galaxy Z Flip 5G, As promised earlier, Samsung finally unveiled its third-generation clamshell phones a few hours ago. The Galaxy Z Flip 3, like the first version of the Z Flip, has an oyster-like design that folds on a horizontal axis. This nostalgic design is reminiscent of old clamshell phones. The new flip has several improvements over its predecessor. In the following, we will take a look at these changes.

It seems that Samsung has a big plan for its clamshell phones this year. If you’re wondering if the new generation Z Flip is a hardware upgrade, read on with Summit to compare the two handsets in several main categories, including display, performance, and battery life.

One of the key differences between the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is the new generation waterproof. To extend the life of its clamshell phones, Samsung has introduced the IPX8 waterproof standard for the Galaxy Z Flip 3, which allows it to last up to 30 minutes in 1.5 meters of water. While the previous generation did not have this feature.

Of course, the design changes to the Galaxy Z Flip 3 do not end here. Samsung has laid the foundation stone for its clamshell phone, and the ultra-thin display glass has become 80% stronger than before thanks to the addition of a panel layer and a protective layer. In addition, this phone, according to Samsung, has the “strongest aluminum frame” among Samsung phones.

In addition, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 has more color options than the previous generation.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5G was only available in two colors. Still, Samsung has made the Galaxy Z Flip 3 available in seven different colors, including gray, dark green, lilac purple, pink, white and black.

Another major difference in the Galaxy Z Flip 3 compared to the previous model is the 1.9-inch Super AMOLED display on the back of this phone, which is much larger and more practical than the previous model, which was 1.1 inches.

The 1.9-inch Super AMOLED display on the back of this 303-pixel-density phone, if folded, can show a preview of notifications, help take selfies with the phone’s main cameras, or control music playback.

The dimensions of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 are 72.2 x 166.0 x6.9 mm when opened and 72.2 x 86.4 x 17.1 mm when folded, which is slightly smaller than the previous model.

The smaller size of this phone indicates a smaller battery; Samsung’s flagship battery has a capacity of 3,300 mAh and weighs 183 grams, making the Galaxy Z Flip 3 a very light phone.

In terms of speakers, Samsung has moved away from the mono speakers used in the Galaxy Z Flip 5G and has used stereo speakers in the Z Flip 3, which provides a great experience for listening to music and watching movies on this phone.

In terms of screen size, both phones have a 6.7-inch screen. However, Samsung has made a big upgrade to the screen on the Galaxy Z Flip 3 this year, and the refresh rate of both AMOLED screens is 120Hz, which will make the user experience more enjoyable than before.

Both phones outperform the 2640 x 1080 resolution with a pixel density of 425, which means that the images on both phones are clear and detailed. The biggest difference in the display of this phone is the use of a 120 Hz refresh rate in Z Flip 3.

Comparison of Galaxy Z Flip 3 with Galaxy Z Flip 5G in terms of processing performance

The upgrade in processing performance of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 was predictable. However, the Snapdragon 865 Plus processor used in the Galaxy Z Flip 5G in 2021 still performs well. The use of the new Snapdragon 888 processor in the Galaxy Z Flip 3 gives better overall performance.

Will guarantee. Aside from processing power, the Galaxy Z Flip 3, like its predecessor, comes with 8GB of RAM and two internal capacities of 128GB and 256GB and does not support microSD memory expansion cards.

In terms of camera comparison, both phones are the same on paper. The Z Flip 3, like the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, features two 12-megapixel wide-angle and ultra-wide cameras with an aperture of f / 1.8 at the back and a 10-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies. Both handsets are equipped with optical image stabilization (OIS) for better image capture. In general, one should not expect much difference in the photos taken with these two phones.

There is no significant upgrade in the battery section, and both phones have a 3,300 mAh battery that guarantees at least one day of moderate to heavy use. Of course, thanks to the new Snapdragon 888 processor, we can expect to see improvements in the battery performance of the Galaxy Z Flip 3. Like its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 uses a 15-watt charger.

In the following, you can see the comparison table of all the technical specifications of these two phones.
