Unable to Install Apps or Software on Windows?
Your computer allows you to do truly amazing things. Digital photo editing, sophisticated computer games, video playback and more. . . All are possible with different software. Developers are always building new programs that allow you to do even more work with your computer.
Installation from CD-ROM
From the mid-1990s to the late 2000s, the most common way to get new software was to buy a CD-ROM. You could insert a disk and guide your computer through the installation process.
But now almost all software has moved away from this method. As a result, many newer computers no longer have CD-ROMs. However, if you need to install software from a CD-ROM, simply insert the disc into your computer, then follow the instructions.
Install the software via the web
The most common way to get new App today is to download it from the Internet. You can now purchase programs such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop and download them directly to your computer. You can also install this software for free.
The installation file is saved in .exe format on your computer. This is the standard extension for installing files on Windows PCs. To install a program with the .exe extension you can follow these steps:
1. Find and download an exe file.
2- Find the exe file and double click. (Usually located in your Downloads folder.)
3. A dialog box will appear. Follow the instructions to install the App.
4- The software will be installed. You can now open the program from the Start menu (Windows 7) or Start Screen (Windows 8).
