Similar Performance To Intel Core I7-12700 And AMD Ryzen 7 5800X In Geekbench
A Review Of The Geekbench Benchmark Results Shows That The AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Processor Has Been Able To Perform Similarly To The Intel Core I7-12700 Processor (Non-K Model) From The Alder Lake Series.
The processor battle continues between Intel and AMD; Leading brands that have divided the PC processor market among themselves are trying to take each other’s share. Naturally, the outcome of the competition depends on the success of the two companies’ new products in the computer hardware market.
Guru3D has reviewed and compared the results of new AMD and Intel processors, including Intel Core i7-12700 and AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. Still, the interesting thing about the two processors is that they perform almost identically to the Geekbench 5 benchmark.
The Intel side is the Core i7-12700 processor, which features 65 watts of power consumption and a dual-core design, including eight powerful Golden Cove cores and four optimized Gracemont cores. The main difference between this twelfth generation processor and the Core i9 model is the less optimized quad-core and the lack of features such as Thermal Velocity Boost and, consequently, lower clock speed.
The single-core Core i7-12700 test in the Geekbench 5 benchmark shows that this processor, with 1595 points, is about 5% lower than the Ryzen 7 5800X. In multi-crude or multi-threaded mode, the Intel processor also scored 10,170 points, which is 2% lower than AMD’s product.
Of course, with the good features and platform provided by Intel 600 series motherboards, these scores are expected to increase slightly.
This information is currently unofficial and will have to wait until the release of official data from Intel. Recently, the technical specifications of the K model of the Core i7-12700 processor have been released, which specify details such as 12 cores, 20 strings, and 25 MB of L3 cache. The sample consists of 12 processing cores, including eight with the Golden Cove architecture and four other Goldmont cores.
Finally, the success of any processor depends on the user experience and sales in the market. What do you, the users of, think about the new Intel and AMD processors, and if you need new processors, which of the two Intel Core i7-12700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processors would you choose?
