Are We Nearing The “End Of The Coding Era”? NCDPT Platform, Software Development Without Coding

Maybe The Day Will Come When There Will Be No Need For Coding. I Have Done Extensive Research In This Area, And It Is Time To Share My Views On This With Others.

Coding Era. I was developing a website when the question came to my mind: “Why do I spend so much time coding this website if it can do without coding?” What do you think will be the future of developers? This question is important to me because I am a developer. Let’s talk more about that.

How did it all start?

It all started with Bernoulli numbers, which is considered the first programming language; Although the reality was something else, this was where everything changed. We are talking about a time when people like Ada Lovelace introduced computer algorithms that helped the world of computer science the most.

I called the “end of the first phase,” in which people no longer looked at computers as computing machines but instead accepted computers as “multifunction machines.”

It was then that the more significant change took place. Computers began to do things other than simple math operations. The programmers started coding. Languages like FORTRAN were created by it. Time passed, and languages continued to be used, and now we have languages like  C ++,  Python,  Java, and other languages.

I called this “stage two,”; Coding Era That is, when programs no longer needed to be created, existing programs had to be improved.

What stage are we at now?

Today, no one uses Bernoulli numbers; People just code. It took about 1,000 years to move from the first stage to the second stage mentioned above (from the initial abacus), but it seems that the transition from the second stage to the third stage will not be that long and may take decades. Let’s witness it.

I think we are at least witnessing the beginning of the third stage. That is precisely the step we do not need to code. Of course, we have reached this point, and our progress will not be swift.

Web Development: The First Visible Evidence

The first thing that comes to mind is websites. We started seeing evidence when it began a long time ago. You need to code an application or something used to create a web, but this must have a beginning just like the rest. Platforms like card, web-flow, or even org-mode can give you excellent results for free without the need for HTML or anything like that.

You may find this little evidence vague or obscure, but note what happened even for the first and second stages.

Software Development: Yes, you read that right.

You should have heard of the NCDP coding development platform. NCDP is a platform where you can develop software without coding. Things like airt-able, bubble.io, etc.

Well, this is where the coding application disappears—having tools that make better software in less time can mean good or bad, which I will discuss later.

 Coding Era

Game Development: This should be easy and clear.

In-game development, a few decades ago, people almost used pygame, unreal script (later unreal engine), and other languages. Please look at the current situation, unity, unreal, Godot, and game maker studio; none need coding (++ C #, C, or gd script). You can easily create a complete game using visual scripting without coding. Also, you have a “Scene” to examine your game visually.

These things I said did not exist decades ago. We are witnessing change now. I can imagine the future.

 Coding Era

What future awaits us?

I can not predict the future accurately, but I can say that it will be far from Coding Era.

Coding and developing programs will be replaced by something 100 times more straightforward and accessible; however, it will sometimes be necessary to program at short intervals.

While this may seem like an exaggeration right now, we can still see the end of this stage now. Now, we need to build applications to develop codeless applications.

One of these two things will happen, Or programming stops, and people develop things themselves, so there is no need for real developers, or developers are not known as coders, but as people who continue to build programs but do not need to code.
