8 Ways to Speed up Windows 10 and Windows 11
Microsoft’s Windows 10 and 11 are faster in terms of loading speed than Windows 7 and 8, but they are larger, have more services, and use more resources such as RAM and CPU. In this article, I will provide you with the result of 8 years of optimizing Windows 10 and 11 in the form of a simple article so that with the help of these few methods, you can increase the speed of your Windows several times in just one hour and stop working with Windows. Enjoy! These methods are the same in Windows 10 and 11!
1- Update drivers
Keeping your laptop up-to-date helps tremendously in speeding it up. Update all software, especially graphics cards, CPU, and motherboard drivers. You can enter the support page of your motherboard manufacturer or use an easier method.
You can automatically update all your drivers. Just download the Driver booster software from here and after opening it as shown in the image below, click the scan option (you must be connected to the Internet) so that your drivers are updated. Finally, restart Windows.
2-Using High-performance mode
Generally, Windows 10 and 11 are in Balanced mode. When you put the system in High-performance mode, the performance level of your system increases greatly. This is necessary to run games.
Just click on the magnifying glass symbol (Windows search, which is on the lower left), type Power, open it like the image below, and set it to High-performance mode.
.
3- Disable animations and additional effects
Windows opening animations, effects in Windows 10 and 11, shadows, etc., occupy some system RAM without being necessary at all. That’s why it’s best to disable them.
All you have to do is click on the magnifying glass icon (Windows search in the lower left corner), type perf, and click Adjust the appearance as shown in the image below (it can also be opened from inside the control panel).
Then select Adjust for best performance, as shown in the image below. Always activate this option first after installing any Windows:
4- Remove additional Windows default programs
Many default programs are installed on your hard drive by installing Windows 7, 8, 10, and 11, which breaks your back! It is enough to remove all default Windows programs with the help of software such as IObit Uninstaller (download link – download the portable version that does not need to be installed at all!).
It is very easy to work with it! Like in the picture below, after opening the program, enter the Windows apps section, tick all the additional Windows programs you see here, and then click on uninstall. (Of course, we suggest you don’t check the calculator and the Photos program, which is for viewing photos, it will work for you).
It takes about half an hour or more (depending on the laptop) to delete these programs, then restarts the system (you will see that the speed has increased, it has doubled now!) and go to the next step.
5- Remove additional features of Windows 10 and 11
You can disable additional features of Windows 10 or 11 that you may never use in your lifetime. No problem will happen to Windows, don’t worry; only your RAM and CPU will breathe!
As shown below, type features in the Windows search field and open the Turn windows features program.
Now it’s enough to untick every active tick, except for the first two options (net framework), as shown in the image below, and click OK. It will take some time, and then click on the restart option. so easily
6-stopping unnecessary services
Especially for Windows 10 and Windows 11, it helps a lot to free RAM and CPU. In many cases, these services take up some of the system’s RAM and CPU and reduce the speed. Just disable the unnecessary ones.
For this, on the bottom left side of Windows, where there is a search sign (magnifying glass), search for the word Services on the search option (or you can search from within the control panel). Open it. It has a picture as shown below:
According to the image above, to disable any service, right-click on it and click Properties. A picture will open as follows:
Now, as shown in the image above, to disable any service, select the Disable option for it.
But which services should we disable? You can disable the following 20 services without any problems (only the following 20 services)
- Windows Mobile Hotspot Service
- Bluetooth Support Service
- Fax
- Remote Desktop Configuration and Remote Desktop Services
- Windows Insider Service
- Secondary Logon
- Downloaded Maps Manager
- Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service
- Offline Files
- Windows Connect Now
- Remote Registry
- Application Layer Gateway Service
- Windows Image Acquisition
- Connected User Experiences and Telemetry
- Retail Demo Service
- Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service
- AllJoyn Router Service
- Geolocation Service
- Program Compatibility Assistant Service
- Enterprise App Management Service
7- Using cleaning software
Windows 10 and 11 must be cleaned once in a while to keep them as short and fresh as the first day. For this, it is enough to delete the additional files in the registry and the Windows drive folders that are temporary and redundant.
Using CCleaner software or Wisecare 365 software, you can maximize system performance by removing all temporary junk files and cleaning the Windows drive.
8- If your laptop hard drive is not SSD, defragment it
Usually, laptops from 2014 and earlier have normal hard drives, not high-speed ones. In this situation, you should defrag the hard drive once a week. This will organize the files on the hard drive and run the programs at a higher speed.
How much does Windows 10 or 11 speed up?
Only with the above methods will the speed of Windows increase up to 2 times, be sure of this. It is better to do these things immediately after installing Windows every time so that you don’t have to worry about system hangs and lags anymore, and you can enjoy working with Windows and have fun. If you have a solution or if there is a problem with the above methods, please post it in the comments section.
