Meta says it’s not going to kill WhatsApp with ads
According to Meta ‘s claim, in-feed ads are not going to be added to WhatsApp Messenger . In the rest of this news, stay with the shopping server.
Meta recently released a statement denying the accusation of adding in-feed ads to WhatsApp. Earlier, a report was published by the Financial Times in this regard. The report said that various teams at Meta, WhatsApp’s parent company, are evaluating ways to add ads to the list of conversations with contacts on the app’s home page.
FT Technology News has made a similar claim and even published an article in this regard on the Platform X user account. This was denied by Will Cathcard, head of WhatsApp, when the issue was reposted. He said that this was not true and Meta has no plans to add such a thing. After this, this statement was officially published.
This is not the first time that Meta has been accused of having such programs to make money from its two billion active users. In fact, analysts have been predicting that developers will finally do this for years.
The main reason is that Meta has done this in relation to its other social network, namely Instagram , and users of this program see many advertisements on their feed page.
Rest assured, Meta adds no ads to your WhatsApp feed page
It should be noted that these accusations have not been without grace at least in the past. In 2018 and 2018, Meta had plans to add ads to WhatsApp. The Wall Street Journal reported in an article that the company plans to add ads to the Status section of this messenger in order to generate more revenue. In 2020, Olivier Ponteville wrote on his Twitter page that WhatsApp wants to display ads in the Stories section. After that, the Wall Street Journal published another report in 2020, and this caused Meta to abandon its decisions and look for other ways to make money.
This company has been able to generate good income thanks to the WhatsApp Business program. This program provides various services and tools to its 200 million active users. According to a TechCrunch media report, during the third quarter of 2022, Meta announced that click-to-WhatsApp advertising has grown by 80% year-on-year to reach $1.5 billion in annual revenue.
It is not bad to mention that this company updated its price list in June this year and tried to increase the revenue from WhatsApp Business by increasing them. Meta seems to have more plans to monetize its services. For example, it has been said that this company wants to allow businesses to send personal messages on Facebook and Instagram. In addition, the addition of channels similar to what we see in Telegram will probably be a way to generate more income through WhatsApp.
In other words, WhatsApp is already a very good source of income for Meta, and this giant of the media world can generate more income through it without destroying this messenger.
