How To Know If The iPhone Battery Has Been Replaced?
All Rechargeable Batteries Are Consumables And Have A Limited Life Cycle. After A Short period, The Capacity And Performance Of The Batteries Decrease, And You Have No Choice But To Replace Them.
Apple iPhones use a lithium-ion battery that the user cannot replace.
Apple tests its batteries at various stages to ensure their safety and optimal performance. Original Apple batteries are rarely found in Iran, so we recommend buying an iPhone whose battery has not been replaced as much as possible.
In the countries where Apple operates officially, users can replace the battery by visiting the company’s stores, but the situation is different in Iran. If you want an iPhone battery replacement, go to a professional repairer.
When to replace the iPhone battery?
Since the release of iOS 11.3, Apple has added an exciting feature to the iPhone, which allows you to see the percentage of battery health—rechargeable batteries age chemically over time, decreasing their ability to store energy.
You can see the battery health percentage by referring to the settings menu, Battery section, and then Battery Health & Charging. We recommend replacing the iPhone battery after the health drops below 80%.
Identifying original and non-original iPhone batteries
Lithium-ion batteries are sensitive parts and must be replaced with great care. Any damage to these batteries can cause overheating, fire, and injury. For this reason, only trained technicians should replace the iPhone battery. Changing the battery by non-professionals and using non-original batteries will negatively affect the device’s safety and may cause the iPhone to malfunction.
According to Apple’s official website, the original batteries are designed in such a way that the software of the device can identify them. The iPhone announces the details of the charge percentage and battery health through the iOS operating system. Non-genuine batteries or batteries that have not been appropriately replaced cannot provide accurate health information to iOS.
How do we know that the iPhone battery has been replaced?
From iOS 15.2 onwards, Apple has included a new software feature in iPhone XR and iPhone XS and newer models, including the second and third generation iPhone SE up to iPhone 14 and later iPhone 15, which announces the details of replacing parts. Among the ways to detect a changed iPhone battery, the best way is to check the settings menu.
For this purpose, you can enter the settings menu, General section, and About to access the service history and iPhone parts. In this section, you can determine whether the iPhone battery has been replaced.
If the iPhone battery replacement process has been done in official ways and using official parts, you will see the words Genuine Apple Part on the front of the battery. You won’t see the Parts and Service History section in the About menu if your phone has never been repaired.
On the other hand, if your phone’s battery has been replaced with a non-original battery or does not work as expected, you will see the phrase Unknown Part. You may also visit the word Apple has updated the device information for this iPhone.
