Turn Bluetooth on or off in Windows
Most mobile devices these days have Bluetooth. If you have a decent modern laptop with Windows 10, then it has Bluetooth. A desktop computer may or may not have Bluetooth, but you can always add it to your system if you want. Assuming that you have access to Bluetooth with your system, in this part of the site, we will tell you how to turn it on and the settings.
Enable Bluetooth in Windows 10
To connect a device to your computer, you need to make sure that Bluetooth is enabled. To do this, open your Settings app by pressing Win + I and then click “Devices.”
On the devices page, select “Bluetooth and other devices” on the left and on the right, and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
Alternatively, you can turn Bluetooth on and off by opening the Action Center (press Win + A or click the Action Center icon on the system). Here you can enable Bluetooth from the Quick Actions panel. Depending on how your items are configured, the placement of the Bluetooth icon may differ from one system to another.
Bluetooth device pairing (connecting two devices)
Now that Bluetooth is on, pair your desired device and put it in Pairing Mode or Discovery Mode.
On your PC, the device should appear in the list of other devices in the settings window. Click on the device and click on the “Pair” button.
Depending on the type of device you are connecting, a confirmation window may appear on both devices asking if you want to pair the device. Here I connected my phone to my PC, and this pop-up will prevent anyone from connecting to the computer. Confirm that the PIN is the same, then click on the “Yes” button.
Device pairing is not showing up automatically.
If your device does not appear below, click the “Add Bluetooth or another device” button at the top of the settings window.
Then select the type of device you want to connect to.
From the list of available devices, select the one you want to connect to.
This should lead you to the same pairing procedure discussed in the previous section.
Using a Bluetooth device to send and receive files
Now that your device is connected to your PC, you can use the wireless connection you set up. This should be automatic. For example, if you’ve plugged in Bluetooth headphones, Windows should immediately recognize them as streaming devices.
If you have a phone or device that can send and receive files connected to you, you can launch the function of the Bluetooth file transfer page from the Bluetooth settings page. Scroll down and click on the “Send or receive files via Bluetooth” link.
Do you want to send or receive files? So, in the transfer window, select the Bluetooth file.
