The space between
- Image Location : Indonesia

There is only one volcanic mountain in the world from which blue fire comes out and a very large acidic lake forms around it, the Kawah Ijen volcano in East Java, Indonesia. And it looks attractive. The main point of this image is watching the rise of the Milky Way at the summit of the crater of this volcano, which has made it one of the most beautiful images recorded.
Kawa Aigen is a very exciting mountain with a height of 2.8 km above sea level and a cover of 20 km. When you imagine an active volcanic mountain, you generally think of a very large mountain that sends thick smoke into the sky and lava and red molten material flow out of its mouth; But it’s a common misconception that Kawa Eigen has changed because of its uniqueness. Unlike many other volcanoes, Mount Eigen volcano emits sulfur gas that burns azure blue when ignited. Aigen flames, like a neon sign, twist and glow, and during the night, molten water-like material falls out of the mountain like a waterfall, creating a beautiful landscape.
When sulfur gas comes out of the ground at high pressure, its temperature reaches 600 degrees Celsius. When this gas hits the air at a very high temperature, it ignites beautifully, creating an azure-colored explosion that can reach a height of 5 meters. Some of this sulfur gas ignites freely after condensation and flows down the mouth. The same ignited liquid sulfur is confused with blue molten material.
Master Cormoran
- Image location: China
- Photographer Name: Sherwin Magsino
Crocodile fishing is a millennial but dying ancient tradition in Guilin, China. The method of fishing with cormorants in traditional Chinese is historical. In this image, a Chinese fisherman catches fish with a bird called cormorants. In this method, fishermen install hooks around crocodile necks without using conventional fishing methods and using fishing rods, hooks or bait, and then the bird is free to go fishing.
The cormorant goes to the fish and keeps its catch inside its beak; But the bird, despite being hooked, cannot swallow the fish. In this way, the cormorants return to the fisherman and offer their prey to him. Fishing in this way has been a successful industry in the past; But today it has become a tourism industry. This method has been passed down from generation to generation; But in modern China, no one goes for it anymore. Most fishermen who use crocodiles for fishing date back to the 1980s, and the youngest is 60 years old.
The family of polar bears is melting in a world
- Image Location: North Pole
- Photographer Name: Roy Galitz
Explaining this image, the photographer says:
The mother bear and her two cubs are on the edge of the ice and have no plans to move on. 2018 was a relatively warm year in the Arctic, and this is the last surviving piece of ice east of Svalbard. Without ice in this area, the mother bear cannot hunt food for herself and her cubs.
Scientists have studied how the Arctic ice melts and concludes that it is due to the warming of the deep water of the Atlantic Ocean. Researchers say global warming has led to rapid warming of the deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean, which flows from below the Atlantic to the Arctic ice sheet, causing it to melt from below rather than above. This melting process causes huge volumes of icebergs to collapse at high speeds. This stops the formation and stabilization of icebergs in the Arctic. According to a joint study by researchers, this trend has accelerated from 15 years ago to today, and the intensity of the destruction of icebergs in the North Pole is constantly increasing. In 2018 and 2019, the melting of Arctic ice has intensified and, of course, in 2020 has decreased slightly.

Prozac
- Image Location: Russia
- Photographer Name: Arseni Neskhodimov
Explaining this image, the photographer says:
The photo gallery, of which this is one, shows my personal experiences with depression. When I was 20, I became prone to depression, and since then, I have found antidepressants useless. I decided to leave Moscow and find a place where I could be happier and share my experiences; But depression followed me. People think that depression is just like normal anxiety and maybe a little more than that; But this is not the case. Because the things we usually do to cheer ourselves up do not work for us if we are depressed, and they cannot be trusted as a cure. I tried to change my mind to get away from my troubles; But to no avail. I think depression should be understood and treated as a disease; Although I do not know the twists and turns of this path.

Quarantine in New Zealand
- Image Location: New Zealand
- Photographer Name: Dominic Thomas
New Zealand is among the countries with the lowest death rates due to Covid 19. In the early days of the Corona outbreak, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the situation needed to be tackled urgently. On March 25 last year, when 100 cases of Covid 19 were reported in New Zealand and no disease had yet died, the country closed its borders to foreign travelers and sent its returning citizens into two-week quarantine. The New Zealand government declared full quarantine two days later; It was a very strict measure to deal with the corona outbreak, given the internationally defined criteria.
From that date on, only grocery stores, pharmacies and hospitals were allowed to operate. In this country, urban traffic and vehicle traffic were restricted and social relations were limited to family connections. These severe restrictions lasted a month and then gradually eased. After imposing restrictions, New Zealand was able to contain and defeat Corona. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said in an interview that she danced for joy after hearing the news of the recent illness of Covid 19 in the country. In other words, New Zealand took advantage of what other countries had lost and was able to prevent the death of many of its citizens.

I’m a Rohingya
- Image Location: Myanmar
- Photographer Name: Mohammad Rakibol Hassan
Explaining this image, the photographer says:
The Rohingya are a small Muslim, Indo-Aryan ethnic group that has lived for centuries in Rakhine State in western Myanmar. Due to racism and many other socio-political issues among the majority in Myanmar, they were declared a stateless Bengali community who had migrated from Bangladesh to Myanmar. More than one million Rohingya live in Myanmar and are the most persecuted people in the world who have been deprived of their land, human rights and citizenship. In recent months and years, the Myanmar military has launched a silent genocide to force them out of the country.
The United Nations, as well as most international media and human rights organizations, describe the Rohingya people as one of the most oppressed minorities in the world. These people make up 4% of Myanmar’s total population. According to laws enacted during Myanmar’s military rule, Rohingya Muslims are deprived of many government services and citizenship benefits because they are not a constituent of the Myanmar people, and live in conditions such as apartheid. Of Myanmar’s 1.3 million Muslims, only about 40,000 are citizens. The Myanmar government considers the Rohingya Muslim minority to be illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. The Bangladeshi government also has a very strict policy against “illegal immigrants” and prevents them from entering.

Growing up in an Indian coal mine
- Image Location: India
- Photographer Name: Costa Korbaz
Jaharia, one of the largest coal mines in the world, is located in the Jaharkhand region of India and has been named the world’s longest blazing fire. The coal mills in Jaharia, in the heart of the Indian Coal Belt, have been burning for more than a hundred years and are still blazing. The villages near these factories still house people, and the threat of collapse is carried from one day to the next. Coal mining from the 260-square-kilometer mine began in the late 1800s at the behest of the British government. The first open flames were observed in this area in 1916; However, in the 1980s, more than 70 flames came out of it.
The deeper the fires, the more the authorities ignored them and hoped that one day they would not be able to burn themselves. But this hope was completely dashed by the new operation in 1973. In that year, Bharat Coking Coal started a large-scale open pit mining operation as a new method of exploiting coal resources in India. At the same time, according to local witnesses, the flames were ignited and the catastrophe that continues to this day took place. Open pit mining is expanding. Will the new generation that grows up here see a future that is not steeped in this bitter truth?
