Anime Review Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop – I Say I Love You

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop Is A Full-Fledged Teenage Romance In Which We Are Supposed To See The Relationship Between Two Strange Characters; Two Characters Who Can Not Communicate Properly With Each Other And Even Others, And In The Romantic Path Ahead Of Them, They Gradually Learn How To Communicate With The World And, Of Course, With Each Other.

Join us with a review of the Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop anime.

As strange as the name of this cinematic anime is (Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop, translators in the country called it “Bubble of Words,” which is a fairly better translation to try to translate this title into Persian, although that original feeling is somewhat in This translation is literally missing.) Its main characters are also strange.

We have a boy named Chery (with a slightly girlish name) who wears big headphones all the time. He does not like music and does not listen to anything at these times, but hits the headphones on his ears because he does not want to hear the voice of others or others to talk to him. He says that when he hears these big headphones, no one comes to him to talk to him, which is a source of comfort for him.

Chery wants to live in silence and is afraid to talk to others so that when she is about to speak in front of others, her whole hands and feet tremble, and her face turns red. He was able to immerse his world in “haiku” and see life through the lens of his haiku. Haiku is a short Japanese poem with no more than three stanzas and in which emotions and time are intertwined.

From there, we have a girl named Smile, who is actually an influencer in cyberspace. This girl has a slogan for hundreds of thousands of fans worldwide that is in line with her name: “Smile.” But the contradiction between this is Smiley’s appearance and his tie with the slogan “Always Smile.” Smile always has a mask on his face, and no one can see his smile, But it encourages everyone to smile. He has big rabbit teeth that he hates and tries to fix them with orthodontics so that he can really smile one day.

Smile lives with his sisters and has hundreds of thousands of followers in cyberspace, but he always wears a mask. She is a lively girl who does not even take off her mask when she falls from her belly and is very hungry so that the rest of her rabbit teeth will not be seen. He sees the world as beautiful, but he does not see himself as beautiful as he should be, and he suffers from this.

The two characters collide in the environment of a large store (a mall), pick up each other’s phones by mistake, and this causes their lives to become intertwined. Their successive encounters gradually form a relationship between the two characters, and each of them reveals new angles of the world to the other. Smiley sees everything as “funny” (read Japanese: kavaeiiii!) And Chery has never heard the word. He tries to figure out what is funny in the world, and as he discovers it, he probably realizes that the teeth of the girl he goes out with are “funny.”

The anime’s story has a perfect rhythm, and its short duration has caused it not to be marginalized. There are no additional scenes in the Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop anime. When Chery’s acquaintance with Smile officially begins, the anime enters a new phase and shows its romance. It is not difficult to connect with these two teenage characters who have problems in their teenage world; They are both introverted and shy characters, and the difference between them is that one hides the issue behind a mask and uses cyberspace, and the other does it behind the verses of his haiku poems.

The confrontation between tradition and modernity between these two personalities has made the chemistry between them better because, despite this confrontation, there are many similarities between them. As I have said several times, the core that binds these two characters and their lives together is introversion. A smile tells everyone to laugh, and he laughs behind his mask, he does not want to share his laughter with others, but he shares almost everything else you can think of with his fans. Chery, however, writes her own poems for herself, she does not want to read them to anyone, and it is her stupid friend who writes graffiti on graffiti throughout the city for the rest to read. Here, too, one uses modern tools (device and internet) to hide frustration, and another uses traditional tools (graffiti and real space).

Chery and Smiley are two teens we’ve rarely seen in a romance. The common mission that the two find in the continuation of the story is an excuse to be more towards each other. An older man who wants to listen to love music again before his death and looks for an old and rare gramophone record so that he can play it again for himself. Chery and Smile are looking for this gramophone record and want to re-enact the older man’s life before he dies. In this romantic mission, they gradually fall in love with themselves.

The masks and headphones used by both characters are subcutaneously related to today’s corona world and can be strongly identified with them. Although there is no news of the infamous Coronavirus in anime, and the story does not mention such a thing, masking Smile and always having it with the viewer’s subconscious reminds people of today and headphones to listen to Chery and his distance from society. Gives home quarantine to the viewer. People who have become more mentally ill during these two or three years of the virus epidemic and the introverts who are deeply ingrained, and the post-corona world, are likely to pose a major challenge. Both anime characters are facing this crisis, and it is challenging for them to reject it. This will happen in our real world, and we will have a crisis that may be worse than the virus itself.

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop anime uses happy and extremely sharp colors; It shows the world in such a colorful and happy way that it completely contradicts the inner workings of its main characters. We are confronted with gray characters who turn upside down in this happy world, and those around them behave in complete contrast to the two. This will change as the story progresses, and the interesting thing is that the anime uses more realistic colors as the story progresses. The director seems to want to remind us that the two main characters were exaggerating their colors and hiding behind this amount of exaggeration before communicating properly. Gradually, as they reach the realities of life, they live in a more real world.

Music is another element that has completely served the cinematic anime Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop. The loud music that is played at the beginning evokes the same feeling and mood as mentioned above. A false joy surrounds the characters like a halo. Romantic and classical music can hear as the anime progresses, but they have a completely different atmosphere and get closer to the lives of the two main characters.

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop is a full-fledged teenage summer romance that can play with the viewer’s soul and heart and caress it. Its characters are lovely and tangible, and there is no mention of the constant exaggerations in the world of anime. And fortunately, there are no jokes or sexual elements, and the anime respects all its characters enough. It should also note that this is not a surreal story, unlike many recent romances in cinematic anime. We deal with a completely romantic romance that is well narrated; its ups and downs and its harmonious rhythm behind-the-scenes concepts are commendable.

Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop shows us how words can have a specific meaning and look different when uttered aloud. Words can really bubble-like fizzy drinks, and this bubble and the taste of it on the tongue (when it bursts slowly and leaves its sweet taste) penetrates deep into the heart and soul.

Kyohei Ishiguro, the director of the romantic anime TV series “Your Lie in April,” directed the film, and Dai Sato, who wrote the screenplay for famous and immortal anime such as Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and Ergo Proxy, has written the romantic script of this anime.

It must be said out loud that I love you unless it is; Loving does not make sense.
