Refocus Has Announced The Winners Of Its Shot Photo Contest, The First Contest For The Newly Formed Organization.

reFocus is a relatively new photo contest and platform designed to provide photographers worldwide opportunities, prizes, and discovery.

The organization says its goals are to provide winning photographers with meaningful awards and opportunities to be discovered for their work. The organization says what it has created through its artist roster, winning gallery, and the People’s Award, which received more than 41,000 votes this year, is more than a competition and a community. A spokesperson for reFocus says:

Some of our judges contacted participants (winners and others) directly to express their interest in working with them in their organizations. When we created this contest, we tried to differentiate ourselves in terms of the number of prizes we offered and the tips we could promise entrants for providing something unique and genuine. Our Innovation Director is a photographer, and most of our planning for reFocus came after a mutual agreement on how existing competitions could do better.

The One Shot contest asked entrants to submit photos that celebrate the power of an image, divided into professional and non-professional categories. The professional type offered a cash prize of $3,500 for the winning shot, while non-professional winners received $1,750.

The photos were judged by an international panel that reFocus describes as representing the highest level of influence and distinction in today’s photography community.

This particular contest hosted 20 categories in both professional and non-professional categories, but three photos were declared overall winners, which you can watch below.
