Tanya Steele, Director General of the World Wildlife Fund UK, says:

“The stunning collection of images recently submitted to the British Wildlife Photography Awards perfectly captures the remarkable richness and biodiversity of our small and sparsely populated islands. Along with this feature, these images show taste, creativity, and commitment, And it is the artistic vision of the good photographers who recorded these scenes.”

The organizers of this exciting competition announced the winners of this year. During this competition, both professional photographers and novice amateurs competed side by side; Each tried to capture the diversity and hidden and apparent charms of this country’s wildlife in full beauty.

In the meantime, the top prize of this competition went to “Paul Colley,” who, in an exciting display, showed the movement of the bat toward its prey in the form of an image recorded with an infrared camera. In this picture, you can see the bat moving over a pool of water toward the insect in front of it. Before hunting this insect, this event took just a short time (about a thousandth of a second).

It is not harmful to know that this image with ghostly bats is the product of fourteen months of effort. Our creative photographer has focused on developing an infrared camera and a unique exposure system to record the movement and flight of bats in the dark and at high speed.

As bats are a protected species, Callie enlisted the help of experts from the British Bat Conservation Agency to photograph them in the wild. He, who won the prize of 5,000 pounds in this competition, says:

“No other picture in my career has ever been so bright and brilliant, and it is still challenging to reach this position again. My taste was struck by the extraordinary speed of this little bat as it moved toward its prey. However, this success was disappointing with some mistakes. Fortunately, other photographers encouraged my efforts and taught me that to achieve success; it is necessary to bear the hardships of failure and setbacks.

A hard work that started from the darkness of the morning and lasted until the evening of the cold nights. During this time, I was emotionally stressed. Sometimes I had to dive into the water up to my waist, and in the end, I did not manage to record even a usable and attractive photo. But finally, the moment of inspiration came and a new idea sprouted in my mind, the result of which was the success of this project and the award beyond expectations.”

But besides this admirable image, it is not harmful to look at other selected photos in different sections of this year’s competition.
