The winners of Apple’s Shot on iPhone photography contest have been announced

After A Long Wait, Finally, Elite Judges From All Over The World Determined The Best Images Of Apple’s Shot On iPhone Competition. In The Following, We Will Examine These Images One By One.

Apple’s Shot on iPhone photography competition started a long time ago. People worldwide participated in this competition and depicted the world around them through the lens of iPhones.

Apple announced at that time that it planned to put the best photos of this competition on its advertising billboards.

That’s why there was a controversy last January about whether or not Apple pays those who register them to use these images in its ads. In response to this issue, this company quickly published a notice and confirmed that it would pay the relevant fees to the owners of these photos.

This fantastic competition is now over, and Apple has chosen the best-recorded images. Among this competition’s winners are people from different countries around the world.

The selection of the best images was made by a panel of internationally recognized judges, whose names are as follows:

Pete Souza, Austin Mann, Annette DeGraff, Louisa Dore, Chen Mann, Phil Schiller, Kayan Drance, Brooks Craft, Sebastian Marina-Mace, John McCormack, and Aram Duplessis.

In the following, you can see the pictures of the winner of the mentioned competition and some selected judges’ opinions about them. Note that these images are winners and no particular order exists among them.

The opinion of several judges about the photo above

Chen Man: “This photo is full of lovely colors, with many stories hidden inside it. Zoom in on the photo to see the details of each family with their unique story. The basketball hoop is right in the middle of this photo and injects more stories into it.”

Annette de Graff: “Storytelling in the art of architecture. [This photo clearly shows that] life goes on behind the walls of an ordinary building in an unknown city. Lively colors and the presence of a basketball basket right in the middle of the photo! The photographer has sharp eyes.

The opinion of several judges about the photo above

Austin Mann: “Taking such a photo requires a lot of patience and perfect timing, and thanks to the  Smart HDR feature and, of course, the high speed of the iPhone in recording the image, we can see the two eyes of this raccoon, and the deep shadows inside this environment are visible to us. “Before, it was almost impossible to take such a photo in natural light.”

Phil Schiller: “The moment the raccoon looks directly at the photographer is amazing. Seeing this scene reminds us of the raccoon saying, “If you back off and don’t worry, none of us will get hurt.” Using the black-and-white effect for this photo has been very appropriate. Additionally, focusing on the raccoon and the entrance to the hollow trunk of this old tree creates a fascinating moment of being frozen.”

The opinion of several judges about the photo above

Phil Schiller: “A reflection that looks like a painting at first glance, in which two worlds collide. Seeing this photo, you will ask yourself how and where it was recorded. A bird flying in the corner of the picture is the only sign of life in this surreal composition before our eyes.

Chen Man: “Distortion and reflection in a strange angle. When you see this picture, you will feel amazing.”

The opinion of several judges about the photo above

Austin Mann: “What I love about the above photo is that it’s highly attainable. In other words, you don’t necessarily have to travel to a place like Iceland to take beautiful pictures. These beautiful subjects are proper under your nose! The lines intersect, the lively colors, and the juxtaposition of signs of newness and oldness all make this photo a great work.

Louisa Dore: “I love the innocence of this photo. The composition, lighting, details, and overall look good. That’s when you notice a small crack in the picture and think, what happened there? Where is this place anyway? Who was there? For me, a good photo is not just a photo that looks beautiful, but a photo that makes you think; In such a way that you can’t stop thinking.”

The opinion of several judges about the photo above

Sébastien Marinau-Mess: “I love how the heart-shaped puddle surrounds the subject. Also, while the issue hurriedly continues, we see a small part of the surrounding world in the background of this pit.

Brookscraft: “A unique perspective and a new take on the popular reflexology category. The water pit is shaped like a heart and has a pleasant symmetry with the main subject. The fact that we can see the subject completely in the photo is a positive thing, and I like it, although it is impossible to be sure how exactly this photo was captured. The depth of field created by the Apple iPhone in normal photography mode has made it possible to record such an image. A DSLR camera would probably need more time to zoom properly and take such a picture.”

Recorded on an iPhone 8 Plus by Elizabeth Scarrott from the United States

The opinion of several judges about the photo above

Brookscraft: “A portrait that captures childhood wonder in an eye-catching landscape. This image has a wonderful composition; This composition shows both the child’s identity and his experience of being in this environment.”

Pete Souza: “A great portrait and the proper use of the background to express the main purpose of the photo. This child’s face is placed in the right place in the photo so that the background can be seen well while not distracting from the main subject. This scene is familiar to me; I have probably been in the same spot. But this image is not like any other image that has been recorded from this region.”

Recorded on an iPhone 10S by Andrew Griswold from the United States

The opinion of several judges about the photo above

John McCormack: “It’s clear that this photo has been carefully considered; The background pattern makes the photo more cohesive, and the smaller versions of the same pattern in the water drops have created a special visual appeal. The creative use of depth of field in this photo is unique.”

Sébastien Marinau-Mess: “Unique composition and coloring to play with the high power of the iPhone 10S in photography. The most interesting thing about this photo is the background, which is well-magnified and can be seen in every small drop of water. I’d like to know what exactly the background pattern belongs to.”

Recorded on iPhone 10s Max by Bernard Antolin from USA

The opinion of one of the judges about the above photo

Kayan Drance: “The above scene looks like a simple scene at first glance, but the use of black and white effect was a smart choice; A choice that portrays this area with a different atmosphere. The black-and-white effect has helped bring out the dramatic contrast of the clouds and the surrounding environment.”

Recorded on iPhone 10s by Layadi Dharmavan from the USA

The opinion of one of the judges about the above photo

Louisa Dore: “For me, this scene evokes the feeling of an old portrait. The texture of the mountains is a metaphor for a wrinkled old face. Something about this photo belongs to the subconscious part of the mind, and this part is the main reason I like this photo. A part that I can’t explain clearly to you.”

Recorded on iPhone 7 by Robert Glasser from Germany

The opinion of one of the judges about the above photo

Kayan Durance: “This photo has an impressive dynamic range. There is detail in every part of the above photo, from the grass to the trees and clouds. The beautiful sky and delightful coloring make this picture even more lovely.

These top 10 photos of the Shot on iPhone contest will be displayed on Apple billboards (in some selected cities), stores, and the company’s official website.
