The selected photos of the 2018 Sony photography contest have been determined

This Year, Sony’s 2018 Photography Competition Started With The Most Participants In The 11-Year History Of The Competition, And Now The Selected Images Have Been Selected.

Nearly 320,000 images were submitted for this competition, which has increased by 40% compared to previous years. Photographers from more than 200 countries participated in this competition, and we saw a strong presence in different spectrums, including young people and students.

Naomi Kass, director of the Center for Contemporary Photography in Melbourne, Australia, said:

The range of images sent to participate in the competition was fascinating, and we received photos in almost all fields. I was impressed by the diversity of approaches within each category and the breadth of photographers worldwide.

This competition was conducted in two general categories. The “Professional” class was created for serial images, and the “Free” sort was created for a single image. Two new types were also added to the competition under creative and exploring the environment. Street photography, landscape, and nature types had the most entries.

Photographers are once again competing for top titles and photos of the year. The chief photographer in the professional category receives $25,000, and in the free class, the equivalent of $5,000.

Various prizes for imaging equipment have been considered in the field of the best images for young people and students.

The head of the exhibition at the London Photo Gallery said:

From new approaches to painting to creative responses to the landscape we live in, Photographers proved well how to be innovative and creative in photography. Our awards for young people and students allow focusing on new talents.

The final winners will be announced on April 19 in London. In the following, you will see the selected images, but to see all the gallery of pictures that are in the list, visit the website of the competition.
