Superstreet’s editorial team, in cooperation with the Japanese tire brand Toyo Tires, has played an essential role in finding new talents in the automotive world after holding two successful seasons of the shutter space photography competition.
It is interesting that after the 2016 and 2017 courses, some of the top photographers joined the Superstreet team.
The third round of the photography contest of Shutter Space Superstreet and Toyo Tires ended with the announcement of the finalists and the final winner. As in the previous two games, this time also, after the winner is determined, the best photo will be printed in the next issue of the magazine; Of course, the winner of the third round also got a flight ticket to Hawaii and participation in the premier Superstreet conference with a gathering of unique cars and showing his photo to the fans.
In the photo competition, the best pictures of tuned vehicles of 2018 were compared with the theme of “night photography,” more than 300 beautiful photos.
The Superstreet team and Toyo Tires were heavily responsible for judging the photos last year, but the final 20 photos were selected in the end. Among the 20 finalist photos, the beautiful work of an American photographer from Arizona became the best image.

In Phoenix, Arizona, except for summer and light showers, it is usually sunny for more than 300 days a year. Beautiful scenes were created this summer with strong winds, rain, and lightning; this condition is not the best for photography. With only a week left to send the pictures, the weather was still quite rainy, So I decided to take advantage of the rain and the existing conditions.
My goal was a photo showing two Nissan GT-Rs with a creative and branding approach. Since the Nissan GT-R with the Liberty Walk body kit had Toyo Tires on it, I decided to shoot it close-up, and the silver GT-R with its rain-soaked exterior gives the viewer a sense of mystery. A Nikon camera used a D810 with a 16-35 lens and a 600-watt flashing light next to the smoke machine.
The first focus was recording the lighting inside and outside the garage to light up the bodies of the cars; The next priority was to record the vehicle’s rain outside the garage.
There was a strong wind during the photography; with a friend’s help, we sprinkled some water on the car outside the garage to capture a better picture. The combination of high-wind sports and smoke machines was unsuitable, but I used these images for the final edit.
