The Ability To Move The Taskbar In Windows 11

The Ability To Move The Taskbar In Windows 11

Microsoft has made many controversial design, UI, and UX choices in Windows 11, but one of the most confusing is its non-removable taskbar.

this is a pleasant issue for users interested in opening the taskbar from the bottom of the screen. However, in recent preview versions of Windows 11, the toolbar can be moved to the top of the screen, indicating that the company may be ready to change its position on the fixed location of the toolbar.

Since the release of Windows 11, many users have wanted to move the taskbar and make it a movable part of the desktop. In previous versions of this operating system, placing the toolbar at the bottom, top, or both sides of the screen was possible. Still, this feature provided by Microsoft in previous versions of Windows is not present in Windows 11.

But now it seems that this company has almost solved this problem. In Windows 11 Dev Build 25309, there is an option to move the taskbar from the bottom to the top of the screen.

Albacore, a software detective, shared the find on his Twitter account.

According to the video, the experience isn’t great at the moment, and when the taskbar is at the top of the screen, clicking the Start button brings up the Start menu from the bottom of the screen, and the same goes for search and taskbar previews.

This feature is only available in Dev, and the current previews show the early stages before it is ready for a wider release and requires further development. Of course, this option may never be released. So you have to wait to find out about its release.
