Samsung Introduced One UI 5 With A Customizable Lock Screen Based On Android 13

One UI 5 Is The Latest Version Of The User Interface For Samsung Phones Based On The Android 13 Operating System, Which Has A Customizable Lock Screen And Uses A New Feature To Answer Calls Automatically.

After weeks of beta testing One UI 5, Samsung unveiled the Android 13-based user interface in total during its 2022 Developers Conference. Samsung says the beta phase of One UI 5 is in its final stages.

The Korean company has released four beta versions of One UI 5 for Galaxy S22 series phones. It is unclear whether the Korean company will release another beta version or go directly to the release of the final version. Most likely, we will see the release of the fifth beta version in the coming days.

New One UI 5 Samsung icons

The new version of One UI has an improved design and uses icons that Samsung claims are more readable. One UI 5 is also equipped with a series of new animations.

iPhone UI offered various customization features before the new version was released, but Samsung has taken customization to a new level with One UI 5. n One UI 4.1, Samsung allowed users to create different emoji designs through the complete Keyboard application. One UI 5.0 makes it possible to remove these designs with a new option in the main menu.

Samsung says that thanks to One UI 5, users can easily customize the look and feel of their devices. The new One UI has a customizable lock screen, and the user can change the wallpaper directly on the lock screen.

On the lock screen, you can also change the mode and colors of the clock.

Samsung offers a dynamic lock screen feature through the new Wallpapers menu. The user can choose up to 15 photos and videos for the lock screen to change the images automatically.

Personalization of the lock screen in the new version of One UI

Samsung allows users to change how notifications are displayed on the lock screen. In the first mode, only the application icon is displayed, and in the second mode, the details of each notification can also be seen.

You can open several selected applications in the new version of One UI without unlocking the phone. For this purpose, you have to swipe right or left on the lock screen. The user can activate the Do Not Disturb mode or the camera flash through the swipe shortcut. Only the calculator and camera, and voice recorder apps are accessible this way.

New blur effect in Samsung One UI 5

Samsung says the new version of One UI has a more blurred effect of providing a better user experience.

Samsung has changed the notification settings page so users can find the desired options more easily. Samsung has also updated the Gallery app with features like the View All option for quick access to all albums.

In the new version of One UI, Samsung has updated the Digital Wellbeing application and brought a series of new features to the Reminder application. In the latest version of One UI, the Bixby Routines function has been renamed to Modes and Routines. The Modes feature, an example of which can be seen in iOS, helps the user to focus on his work more efficiently.

Samsung’s One UI 5 user interface has experienced relatively essential changes in the security and privacy sector. In this user interface, Samsung has combined the Biometrics and Security and Privacy sections, which were separate before.

New Samsung One UI 5 widgets

In One UI 4.1, we saw the use of new widgets that Samsung called intelligent devices.

In the new One UI, Samsung allows users to apply new color themes to the phone. These color themes are inspired by wallpaper. These widgets are more advanced in One UI 5.0, and the user can stack several in one package.

In the camera application, the Filters and My Filters tabs have been combined so the user can easily access the filters. Inside the camera application, it is also possible to create new filters. In the settings section, it is possible to add watermarks to images.

Overall, we can’t call One UI 5 a big update. It seems that in the new generation, Samsung has primarily tried to stick to the successful formula of the previous generation and apply a series of changes to increase the competitiveness of One UI. The number of changes in One UI 4 was much more than in One UI 3.

One UI 5 notification panel changes compared to the previous version

According to Samsung, the arrangement of notifications in the new version of One UI has a more unified and attractive appearance.

The lock screen customization in Samsung’s new skin and Apple’s new OS makes the update look more prominent, but the changes aren’t that big. The changes of One UI 5 compared to One UI 4 are more like the changes of iOS 16 compared to iOS 15. Many of the new One UI’s customizations were previously available in Good Lock.

Samsung has confirmed that One UI 5 will be released before the end of this month. This user interface will initially be available for Galaxy S22 series phones. The complete list of devices supported by the new version of One UI has not been published.
