Hot Lake Or Pink Lagoon On The West Coast Of Australia Is A Collection Of Artificial Pools For Growing Microalgae That Make The Water Look Pink.

Christina Makiva is an artist who has long dreamed of photographing Australia’s Pink Lake. After visiting Hot Lagoon, I convinced him that what he saw was beyond his dreams. Hutt Lagoon is located on the west coast of Australia near the town of Gregory.

This tiny town is a fishing port between the ocean and the Pink Lagoon. Hut Lagoon is a salt lake that appears red or pink due to carotenoid-producing Donatella saline microalgae, a source of beta-carotene, a food coloring agent, and a source of vitamin A.

This 250-hectare wetland is one of the largest sources of microalgae production globally, with a collection of 250 hectares of artificial ponds for growing Donalilla salina.
