Konami’s Company Name Is Officially Changed

On The Occasion Of Konami’s 50th Anniversary, The Name Of This Japanese Company Will Is Officially Changed This Summer.

Following a meeting of the board of the major Japanese publisher on Thursday, a Konami spokesman announced that the company’s legal name would change from July. According to reports, the company will change its name from Konami Holdings Corporation to Konami Group Corporation if its significant shareholders agree in the coming months.

The change is part of the company’s new management plans for the fiscal year 2023, which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Konami name. The new term encompasses all of its core operating units, including its sports and entertainment business division and the large Konami Digital Entertainment unit for video games.

In an official statement, Konami acknowledged the change as “continuing to grow and meet new challenges.” “Let’s strive for further development as a sustainable company.”

These new changes follow Konami’s internal structure redesign that began last year.

Analysts believe that concerns about the gradual decline in the financial performance of Konami’s significant businesses in recent years, such as the Pachinko gaming machines and sports clubs due to the recent coronavirus outbreak, have led the company to turn its attention to computer game development.

According to reports, the poor performance of the company’s in-house gaming teams in recent years, which has led to the release of disappointing games such as Metal Gear Survive and Contra: Rogue Corps, has also persuaded Konami executives to turn to foreign gaming studios. Then according to a report released by the Video Games Chronicle in October last year, the company has various plans to recover its three popular collections.

According to the report, the remake of the famous and classic game Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater has been entrusted to the lesser-known Singaporean game studio Virtuos. Konami also plans to release a remastered version of other Metal Gear Solid games on modern platforms, though no further details are available. According to this report, fans of the Silent Hill series can also expect two new games from this famous horror series.

One of these games is part of the Polish studio’s multi-faceted collaboration between Konami and the Bloober Team.

Konami has agreed with a Japanese studio to make another game in the series; Kojima Productions Studios made the project, which some Japanese sources claim, has not yet been confirmed by credible sources, and VGC sources deny Kojima’s involvement in the project.

The latest reports also mention the reboot of the Castlevania series; this will be the only project started by Konami’s in-house game development teams and will continue with the help of local studios to continue the development process. For now, though, we’ll have to wait and see which of these exciting projects are introduced sooner than the others.

Last summer, before the E3 2021 event, Konami announced that it would not be attending the event due to scheduling issues and would instead introduce a different game in the coming months, which we have not seen before. With the cancellation of E3 2022 entirely, it is unclear when and at what event Konami will finally unveil the new versions of this popular and old series.
