Introducing Ping My Watch In iOS 17

Introducing Ping My Watch In iOS 17

It Is Now Possible To Locate An iPhone From Your Apple Watch With The Ping Feature. Now It Seems That Users In Ios 17 Will Be Able To Locate Their Watch From The iPhone.

Ping iPhone from Apple Watch is simple. To do this, swipe up on the watch face and tap the phone icon (or on watchOS 10 or later, click the side button and tap the phone icon). In the dark, you can also hold the phone icon for a long time to light up during the ping flash of the device.

The reverse version of this feature is added to iOS 17 with a new option in Control Center. This feature is currently off by default but can be tested in iOS 17 beta by enabling it.

Here’s how to set up and test this feature.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap on Control Center
  3. Swipe down and tap the + button next to Ping My Watch
  4. To open Control Center, swipe down from the top-right corner (or from the bottom on phones with a Home button).
  5. Please tap on the new Ping My Watch button.

If your phone and watch are in Bluetooth range and connected, Ping My Watch will work from Control Center. You can use the Find My app to ping your look for longer distances.

This feature works when the Apple Watch is closed and unlocked, charging and locked, or even not charging.

Wherever Apple Watch is around you, the Ping My Watch feature in iOS 17 is up for the challenge. The iPhone software update is in beta and expected to be released publicly in September.
