How To See Instagram Stories Anonymously?

Do You Want To See Someone’s Instagram Stories Anonymously? Here’s How To Do It To Satisfy Your Curiosity.

If you want to always be in touch with your friends and always be in the know, Instagram Stories can be a great source of information about each other’s condition. These stories can show you slices of your friend’s daily activities and situations more straightforwardly; for example, you can see what your friend has done today. In addition, you can write a message in response to the Story he shared and start a conversation like this.

However, sometimes you may want to see the Story of someone you are not significantly related to, and you view it for the sake of Story curiosity and don’t feel good about it. Usually, when we consider a story, our name is included in the list of viewers of that Story. Can we do something so our name is not on that list? In a word, yes! Stay with us to check how to view Instagram stories anonymously.

Is it possible to view Instagram stories anonymously?

Naturally, Instagram does not allow you to view stories anonymously. This is not surprising, given the platform’s value of interaction and communication. That’s why the app even shows quick reactions to stories, so it tells you who viewed your Story in the first place.

Usually, when you view a story, that person immediately notices that you have considered it, and your name appears on the list of people who have believed it. There is no way to hide your username or remove your name from this list.

Sometimes, you might like to view someone’s Story without them noticing. Or maybe you want to exclude one of your friends but still secretly see their stories out of curiosity. Fortunately, you can watch someone’s Story without leaving a trace in several ways. It might be a little awkward, but if you are very curious, use this method to satisfy your curiosity.

Is it possible to view someone’s Story without having an Instagram account?

Before anything else, you might think of logging out of your account or using an incognito window through your browser to view people’s stories secretly. Unfortunately, you can’t take a sneak peek, as Instagram only allows logged-in accounts to view stories. This protects your privacy, so your content will only be available to valid accounts or accounts.

Can you view Instagram stories from a private account?

Private or private accounts are suitable for those who do not want their content to be exposed to everyone. If you wish the photos and videos you share not to be exposed to the public or not to attract the attention of unknown people, you can make your account private or private.

On the other hand, if you want to check someone on Instagram and their account is private, it can be a bit difficult. Those accepting requests can only see posts and content shared in personal accounts. Hence, the stories that are shared are also protected.

In this case, there is no way to view and review them except to send a request for that page and be accepted, so it is not possible to view the stories of that account anonymously.

How to view Instagram stories anonymously

As you can see, there is no way to view someone’s Story anonymously directly through Instagram. However, you can use some tricks if you want to view someone’s Story without the other party noticing. Here are two tricks that we do not recommend using one of them.

Viewing the Story secretly using the side story

Probably the easiest and fastest way to view a story anonymously is to view it through nearby stories. As you know, when you open Instagram, you see the story bar at the top of the main screen; whenever your friends and people you follow publish a story, their Story is placed in this bar. If you touch one of those stories after viewing it, the Story of the next person or account will automatically appear. Fortunately, through this bar, you can sneakily check someone’s Story without the other party noticing.

Note: It is better to test this method with your mobile phone; if you want to try it through a computer, your name may be among those who have viewed it.

It’s a simple trick, but it has limitations, such as the fact that you have to be careful not to touch the screen and that this method is only suitable for viewing photos, not videos.

However, if only a glance will satisfy your curiosity, you can use this trick. To do it, you must:

  1. Open the Instagram app on your phone.
  2. In the story bar at the top of the home screen, tap the Story to the left (previous) of the Story you want to check out secretly.
  3. After opening the previous Story, tap and hold on to it.
  4. Now, without removing your finger from the screen, slowly drag it to the left so that a little bit of the Story you want is revealed after this Story. You must be careful since you don’t want to leave a trace of yourself. When the slideshow opens, you can see both stories together, that is, both the Story you opened and the Story you wanted to see secretly; in this case, you must keep your finger on the screen and not lift it.

Once your curiosity is satisfied, gently swipe right and return to the previous Story you started with. With this trick, your name will not be registered on the list of people who have seen that Story. Of course, as we said, if the desired Story is a video, this trick will not help you.

View Instagram stories anonymously using another account

Another way to secretly view someone’s stories is to create a new account. The risk of this trick is lower, and you can consider secondary specifications for yourself. By creating this account, you can share some of your creations and other works and follow those you don’t want to be shown on your main account through that page.

Of course, this trick works when the page of the person you want to sneak a peek at is not locked. If the page is private, it is doubtful that they will accept your secondary account request, so you have to be very lucky that the page of the person you want is not locked, or if it is, it will accept the request of an anonymous person.

Anyway, here’s how to set up and create a new account:

  1. Open the Instagram app.
  2. Tap your profile picture in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  3. Touch the menu icon (three lines) in the upper right corner of the screen.
  4. Then select Settings and Privacy.
  5. Go to the bottom of the opened menu and tap on Add account.
  6. In the open menu, select Create a new account.
  7. Now, choose a username for yourself. Once you’ve selected and the app confirms the name, tap Next.
  8. In the next step, you must choose and enter your password. Choose a strong password and tap Next.
  9. Now you have to make an important choice. At this stage, you must choose between Adding a new phone or adding your email; this will separate your accounts. Enter an unknown email address and add your desired profile photo and bio.
  10. Your new account is set up; you can use it to check the stories you want to see anonymously.

Use a different site (we do not recommend using this option)

There is another trick to do this, but we don’t recommend it too much. For this reason, we mention it very briefly. Several applications claim to allow you to view people’s Instagram stories anonymously.

These apps work but often require access to your Instagram account or can be confusing. We recommend never using such programs and sites to protect your account and privacy.

Will people notice that you took a screenshot of their Story?

Unlike Snapchat or Facebook, Instagram (at least for now) doesn’t notify users when someone has taken a screenshot of their Story.
