AWS customers can integrate Q with enterprise-specific applications and software like Salesforce, Gmail, and Amazon S3. Q catalogs all connected data and content and learns information such as organizational structures, cor,e concepts, and product names.

Companies can ask the Q chatbot through the web app to look into things like analyzing problematic product features and finding ways to improve them. The Q chatbot is available through the AWS Management Console and a web app and is compatible with conversational apps like Slack. This chatbot has a deep understanding of AWS and the various products and services offered through it.

Amazon’s AI assistant can provide suggestions for AWS usage and solutions tailored to users’ needs. For example, in response to a question about the best EC2 instance for a particular application, Q can provide a list of options based on performance and cost.

Adam Slipsky provides a practical example explaining how Q can handle a video encoding and transcoding application with impressive performance. In this context, Q offers appropriate suggestions, taking into account performance and cost considerations.

Additionally, Q is integrated with Amazon’s CodeWhisperer, A service that can generate and interpret code. Q can create tests to evaluate software using the client’s code knowledge in a supported integrated development environment (IDE) such as Amazon’s CodeCatalyst.

Adam Slipsky notes that a small team at Amazon has been able to upgrade about 1,000 applications from Java 8 to Java 17 using Q, testing it in just two days. Amazon is also developing Q for its early products, such as QuickSight, a business analytics service. In QuickSight, the Q chatbot can suggest visualization options for business reports and automatically reformat them or answer questions about the report data.
