Aitoliko; A city haunted by spiders

Aitoliko, A Coastal Town In Western Greece, Has Received A Unique Sight With An Influx Of Spiders.

Greek photographer Alexandros Maragos has recently captured incredible images of a collection of spider webs woven on the beach, which reaches 300 meters and is located in the city of Aitoliko in western Greece.

Not many people are surprised by this situation! The beach of this city, which is not unprecedented in receiving this large amount of spider webs, has once again hosted the strange art of thousands of “Tetragnatha” spiders so as not to withhold the unique scenery resulting from this event from the eyes of photographers and the people of the world. Therefore, the people of Aitoliko were also criticized.

It is natural that with thousands of spiders’ day and night work, a significant part of the beach, trees, bushes, and even animals are covered. These spiders start to weave webs for mating and, on the other hand, aim to trap a multitude of mosquitoes growing in that environment simultaneously. Their results should be placed.

In the following, we will watch these strange and exciting pictures together.
