Activation of ESET SMART antivirus

 

You may receive errors with ACT and ECP error codes when activating ESET Antivirus.
The following will provide a tutorial to fix the ESET antivirus activation error.

1. First, check your internet connection and make sure that the connection is complete.
2. If another antivirus is installed in your system, obliterate it.
3. In the Start menu, type CMD, click on the Command prompt program, and click Run as administrator.

 

4. On the open page, type netsh winsock reset and press Enter. After displaying the following message indicating the operation’s success, restart your system.

If the activation error is still not resolved, you should take the necessary steps to fix it according to the table below and through the error code written on the error page.

If you encounter this antivirus error, uninstall it from your system, download the latest version, and install it according to the guide.
ACT.4 This error means the inability to upgrade the software and the failure of the installation files, and it usually occurs when another antivirus is installed on your system. In this case, remove the antivirus or security software incompatible with ESET antivirus from the system and then proceed to install ESET antivirus.
ACT.5 Activation failed If you encounter this error message while activating ESET antivirus, it means that you have either already started this license or entered the license code incorrectly.

Invalid License Key

If you encounter this error message when activating ESET antivirus, you have entered the activation code incorrectly. To avoid unwanted mistakes, it is better to copy/paste the activation code that was emailed to you.

ACT.21 This error occurs when your product is being upgraded to a higher version. Restart your system and try to activate it again.
ACT.25 You will encounter this error message when activating the ESET antivirus if you have previously used a license on the Beta version of ESET products.

Activation failed – An error occurred during activation. If you encounter this error message while activating the ESET antivirus, this license is not the valid country you selected during the insertion operation system location to Iran.

Error 0015

Your license code has expired, and you must get a new one.

Error 0097 The activation key is used for a different product. If you encounter this error message when activating ESET antivirus, your license is incompatible with the software you downloaded and installed. To solve the problem, download and install the software related to your purchased request.
ECP.20002 We could not reach the activation server. This error usually happens for the following reasons.

1. Your computer is not correctly connected to the network, your internet connection is inactive, and ESET antivirus cannot link to ESET servers. To solve the problem of Internet connection, establish your system. To make sure the system is connected to the Internet, open https://www.eset.com.

2. There is an incompatibility between ESET Antivirus and another security software on your system, such as Lavasoft Web Companion.
To solve the problem, refer to the Windows Add/Remove programs section, delete any Lavasoft or Web Companion programs you have installed, and reset Winsock on your system.
Note: Lavasoft may appear as Web Companion in the Windows Add/Remove programs section.

After removing this software or software, follow the steps below
Right-click on the Command Prompt icon and select Run as administrator.
Type the command netsh winsock reset and press enter.
Finally, restart the computer.
After the system is up, delete the following files:
C:\Windows\system32\LavasoftTcpService64.dll
C:\Windows\system32\SysWOW64\LavasosftTCPService.dll (on 64-bit systems only)
Under normal circumstances, you should be able to activate ESET products without problems. If you can’t, it means that your system has a DNS/Internet network problem or another security software installed on it or not removed correctly has caused issues in activating ESET products.

ECP.20031 If you encounter this error message when activating ESET antivirus, first check the system date because the main reason for this error message is that the Windows date is not set. If there is still a problem after setting the system date, refer to the following link:

ECP.4097 If you encounter this error message when activating ESET antivirus, it means that the time and date of your system are not correct. To solve the problem, first set the date and time of your system and then activate the antivirus.
ECP.4098 Your ESET product is having trouble connecting with ESET servers
If you encounter this error message when activating ESET antivirus, ensure you are connected to the Internet to solve the problem. To be sure of this issue, you can open http://www.eset.com. If you are connected to the Internet, activate the software again.
ECP.4099

We could not reach the activation server.

This known operating system issue prevents ESET Antivirus from activating in some situations.
Follow these steps to solve the problem:
Make sure your Windows is updated. If not, update your Windows, then restart the system and activate it again after Windows comes up.
Uninstall all antivirus or other security software installed on the system.

ECP.4100 Internal error

If you encounter this error message when activating ESET antivirus, reactivate the software in a few minutes. If you still do not succeed, contact the technical department of Tima Computer.

ECP.4115 This license is not valid in the selected country. Your request needs to be activated in the country where it was purchased. If you encounter this error message when starting ESET antivirus, it means that the time and date of your system are not correct. To solve the problem, first set the date and time of your system and then activate the antivirus.
Communication with the activation database failed. Please try to activate it again in 15 minutes. If you encounter this error message when activating the ESET antivirus, your product cannot connect to the server. Wait for about 15 minutes, and then try to start the antivirus.
Error communicating with database activation.
If you encounter this error message when activating ESET antivirus, ensure your system is connected to the Internet. If you are sure about this, try to start the antivirus again.
Error communicating with the activation server — Please verify that your Internet connection is active, then click ‘Update virus signature database.’If you encounter this error message when activating ESET antivirus, ensure your system is connected to the Internet. If you are sure about this, try to start the antivirus again.

You entered the activation code incorrectly if you encounter this error message when activating ESET antivirus. To avoid unwanted mistakes, it is better to copy/paste the activation code that was emailed to you.

The activation server is busy. Please try to activate it again in x minutes. If you encounter this error message while activating the ESET antivirus, the ESET activation server is active. Please wait for the amount of time specified in the news and then try to start it again.
