96-Core Processor Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX For Workstation!

96-Core Processor Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX For Workstation!

It Was Just A Few Days Ago That, For The First Time, We Seriously Saw News About AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 Rendering And Workstation Processors.

While we hesitated about the maximum number of cores, new news confirms that the 96-core Ryzen Threadripper 7000 processor has up to 96 seats instead of the usual 64 bodies!

At first, it was thought that the increase in thermal power of 350-400 watts in AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 workstation processors was due to the rise in the working frequency.

But it has recently been found that this was not the case, and apparently, the increase in the number of cores is also involved. AMD seems to have used the same arrangement and chip let of EPYC server class processors according to the socket type.

AMD seems to be planning to increase the number of cores of its popular Threadripper series. After a long wait, the High-End Desktop Platform (HEDT) returns with a significant CPU count with the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX, which has 96 cores and 192 threads.

It’s worth noting that this is the first core count upgrade for the series since the Threadripper 3000 series.

The Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX, presumably the Ryzen Threadripper 7995WX for home systems, was spotted in the HP Z6 G5 Workstation system, which is likely one of the pre-built systems from AMD’s partners.

The Threadripper PRO series seems to be ready to dominate AMD’s workstation systems. The latest Geekbench listing has revealed the 96-core Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX configuration! Although the base frequency is misrepresented, benchmark data suggests that our 96-core Threadripper could reach a boost frequency of 5.14GHz, a detail further confirmed by the Geekbench output.

While the benchmark tool doesn’t explicitly mention this, the configuration highlights 503.27GB (512GB) of memory in use. This thread ripper CPU managed to score 2095 points for the single-core score and 81408 points for the multi-core score in Geekbench v5.5 for Linux (Ubuntu 22.04 LTS), making it one of the fastest CPUs in the database.
