Windows 10, version 21H1 end of servicing

In a recent blog post, Microsoft reminded Windows 10 users that the company plans to end support for Windows 10 version 21H1.

Windows 10 v21H1 was released in May 2021, and users will receive the latest update for all versions of Windows 10 version 22H1 in December 2022.

And then, users will not receive any quality and security updates for this version of Windows 10.

Microsoft will end support for Windows 10 v21H1 in December 2022

Microsoft releases quality and security updates for systems running the Windows operating system. Quality and security updates are essential to install because they contain security patches that help protect users’ systems from security threats.

When Microsoft releases an update, it is automatically downloaded to users’ systems.

However, users can also check for the update in Windows 11/10 settings.

But according to Microsoft’s statement, Windows 10 v21H1 users will no longer receive quality and security updates after December 2022.

Take a look at the statement provided by Microsoft:

On December 13, 2022, all versions of Windows 10, and version 21H1 will reach the end of service. The December 2022 security update, released on December 13, is the last available update for this version. After that date, devices running this version will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates containing protection against the latest security threats.

Microsoft also suggested users upgrade to Windows 11. Windows 11 is available for eligible devices. You can check if your device supports Windows 11 by installing PC Health Check.
