New Features Of Google Maps To Improve Navigation

Google Maps Has Introduced New Features, Such As An All-Around Display Of Routes, improved Routing Details, And Transportation Filters.

New features that make navigation easier have been added to Google Maps. One of these features is a new color palette that helps improve the app’s visual appeal.

The new version of Google Maps has a lighter green color for parks and nature, which creates a pleasant contrast with the roads, changing from white to gray. This color scheme allows the use of white for street crossing and increases visibility even at low zoom levels.

Essential changes in Google Maps

Google Maps has introduced new features including comprehensive route display, improved routing details and transportation filters.

In the revised navigation app, the nature trails with dashed lines are less prominent due to the new color scheme. Buildings and structures retain their color difference and are displayed in gray or light yellow, depending on their importance.

In the updated version of Google Maps, freeways are shown in a darker gray color with soft blue undertones to ensure users are thematically consistent with the roads. This is a significant change compared to the usual sand color, but it is in perfect harmony with water and takes on a lighter blue color. In addition, reducing the use of yellow allows the orange markers that display the restaurants to stand out more.

Availability of Google Maps color palette

In October 2023, Google first hinted at the updated color change across the map, and testing began in August 2023. While some users have been introduced to the new palette for the past few weeks, the update is still rolling out for Android and iOS.

If you haven’t received the new Google Map update, pause or close Google Maps from the multitasking settings until the new colors are loaded. Currently, the new color palette is not available in the web version.
