Winners Of The 2021 Wildlife Photographer Of The Year Competition

The Museum Of Natural History Has Announced The Winners Of The 2021st Annual Wildlife Photographer Of The Year 2021 Competition.

The awards began as a magazine competition in 1965 and have been held annually ever since. The purpose of this photography competition and its exhibition is to inspire a love for the natural world and to draw people’s attention to the planet Earth.

Last year’s event saw the submission of 49,000 entries, with Sergei Gorshkov receiving the grand title for his work depicting a Siberian tiger embracing an ancient spruce tree.

The competition is judged in several different categories such as “Animals in their habitat,” “Animal portraits,” “Behavior: amphibians and reptiles,” “Behavior: birds,” and other topics. The winners of all categories will compete for the grand title of the competition.

Laurent Balsta, a French underwater photographer and biologist, was announced the winner of the Museum of Natural History during a virtual awards ceremony among 50,000 photographs submitted by photographers from 95 countries.

His mysterious “Creation” depicts camouflaged tropical fish emerging from their milk’s egg and sperm cloud in the Fakarava region of Polynesia, France. Barista and his team returned to the lagoon every year and dived day and night to avoid missing the annual spawning in July and the full moon.
