Where Does Aquaman 2 Inspires From ?

Although the filming of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is underway, fans have little information about the story and its mainstream.

Now James Van, director of Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, is talking about his source of inspiration. In an interview with TotalFilm, James Vaughan said he was inspired by an Italian horror film from the 1960s called Planet of the Vampires.

Aquaman 2 is very much inspired by Planet of the Vampires. You can take me out of the horror genre, but you can never take horror out of me.

Planet of the Vampires is a 1965 horror film directed by Mario Bava. Planet of the Vampires is a scary and sci-fi movie in which members of two spaceships crash into an unknown planet. While landing on a strange planet is scary in itself, the situation is rapidly deteriorating. The inhabitants of this planet take control of the bodies of the crew killed in the accident to kill the rest of the survivors.

The film, produced on a relatively small budget, has a wide range of in-camera visual effects. Planet of the Vampires has also influenced other works, including Ridley Scott’s Alien and Prometheus.

The main question is, how does Planet of the Vampires affect Aquaman 2? This question still cannot be answered correctly, and fans will have to wait for the release of the James One film. However, James Vaughn believes that fans are now ready for Aquaman to enter the horror genre.

In part, this is because they were unfamiliar with picture books that depict a very strange and bizarre world. People were surprised that I did not throw everything away to make a dark and heavy film. But I felt it was not appropriate. I think it will be easier for people to accept our plans for the second film, because I have already laid the foundation.
Just as there was a little bit of my sense of horror in the first film and about the trench sequence, there will be a little bit of it in the next film. I think this is a big part of my character and it naturally appears in this kind of movies.

In this sequel, we will see the return of Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, and Amber Heard as Princess Me. Patrick Wilson for the negative role of Ocean Master, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II for the negative role of Black Manta is added to the two.

Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom will be released on December 16, 2022 (December 25, 1401).
