Under the pretext of the Plasko fire: the ruins of a half-century-old memory

The News Of A Massive Fire In The Plasco Building In  Tehran Soon Spread Into The Cyberspace; The News We Hoped Would End Well With The Control Of The Fire, But This Did Not Happen.

Unfortunately, “The Plasco Building, “one of the oldest high-rise buildings in Tehran, caught fire this morning. Firefighters rushed to the scene of the accident. Still, the extent of the fire and the environmental conditions were such that it was impossible to extinguish the fire immediately and finally caused a delay in controlling the fire.

Finally, after hours of non-stop effort and while there were still several hard-working firefighters and rescue teams at the site, unfortunately, this dilapidated building did not hold up and collapsed.

The Plasco building was founded in 1339 by “Habib Al-Ghanian,” the head of Iran’s Kilimian Association. After 56 years after its inception, today, it disappeared amid smoke and fire and forever from Tehran.

But in addition to this sudden and shocking incident, a group of our brave and selfless compatriots also died while doing their duty. Unfortunately, the firefighters who took their lives in the palm of their hands and were present to control the fire and save the people on the upper floors of this building did not find a chance to leave the building and were buried under the rubble.

The news indicates that at least 30 firefighters have lost their lives so far, and today the city of Tehran is mourning the loss of these loved ones. As always, such incidents are a shock to all of us, especially the relevant institutions. To prevent the repetition of such incidents and to think about the condition of the dilapidated buildings of the metropolises so that we no longer mourn the loss of our fellow citizens like this.

Today in the virtual space, we saw images full of fear, astonishment, and, of course, the sadness of people and firefighters who started their day with their friends. Still, in these moments full of stress and worry, they mourn for friends who have traveled or loved ones who are still. Their fate is unknown. Families, whose fears increase each minute that they will meet their loved ones again? From the bottom of our hearts, we wish that this request will be answered and that this incident will not cause more casualties.
