WhatsApp Messenger Network has added a new feature that gives you more control over who adds you to groups on this social network. According to WhatsApp, the new part is related to protecting users ‘privacy, reducing harassment, and keeping users’ phone numbers safe.
How do we determine who can add us to a WhatsApp group?
Avoid being added to unwanted groups.
Go to Settings for more control over adding to WhatsApp groups. Then tap Account> Privacy> Groups and select one of the three options “My Contacts,” “Nobody,” or “Everyone.”
The “Nobody” option means that you must confirm the received invitation to join a group. Also, the “My Contacts” option means that only users you know can add you to other groups.
If the “Nobody” or “My Contacts” options are selected, the invitee should send you a private invitation via private chat so that you can decide whether to join your group.
No one can now add you to the new WhatsApp group without your permission.
You have up to three days to accept or reject the invitation when you receive the message.
The new privacy feature is now enabled for some users and will be available globally to users who have updated their WhatsApp version in the next few weeks.
