The winners of the 2019 Sony World Photography Competition have been announced

The Winners Of The 2019 World Photography Competition Were Officially Announced Among 327,000 Registered Works.

The winners of the 2019 Sony World Photography Awards have been announced. In this competition, the Italian photographer, Federica Borella, stood in first place for his series of photos titled Project Five Degrees, which was related to the suicide of male farmers in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India.

The state has been struggling with its worst drought in the last 140 years, and its farmers are committing suicide due to poverty and not producing enough crops.

The jury has praised this collection for its technical excellence and the subject’s sensitivity and artistic representation of this global concern. In addition, Federica Borella will receive a $25,000 prize for the purchase of Sony photography equipment.

In addition to winning the title of photographer of the year, Federica Borella has also won first place in the documentary photography category.
