The Art Of Paper Cutting; Interesting Pictures Of Paper Animals

A Few Years Ago, Two Indian Artists Embarked On A Year-Long Challenge To Create Miniature Wildlife Using Paper And Watercolor Paintings.

Vaishali and Nayan are two paper-cutting artists from India who spent a whole year doing and photographing their works. It all started as a one-year challenge until this 365-day project gradually turned into something bigger.

By continuing this process, they continued to create their works until 2020, which resulted in the creation of 1000 works of art.

Every work of art starts with a simple sketch on paper. After that, different design layers are drawn on 200 GSM watercolor paper. Each layer is then precisely cut by hand and prepared for painting. Each small layer is carefully painted with watercolor.

Finally, all the layers are added to create a 3D look for the animals. Each piece takes about four to eight hours to make, depending on details such as feathers, furs, and colors. These two artists express the purpose of creating their paper works as follows:

As we witness climate change, we must change now.

We want to share the beauty and importance of rare birds through our unique art. We hope people will understand the importance of all bird species and help save them.
