The MacBook Pro 2020 Has Been Updated With The M2 Chip Without Any Design Changes Or Other Specifications.
During Apple’s developer conference and on the sidelines of the introduction of the successor to the M1 chip, the M2, Apple updated the 13-inch version of the 2020 MacBook Pro with its latest chip.
The new version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro is the first member of the MacBook Pro family to be equipped with the M2 chip and supports up to 24 GB of integrated memory (with 50% more bandwidth) and up to 2 terabytes of SSD storage.
However, there is no change in appearance compared to the MacBook Pro 2020. The touchpad still exists, and there is no notch at the top of the screen.
With the new chip, the 13-inch MacBook Pro is about 40% faster than its M1 version and has up to 20 hours of battery life. The MacBook Pro 2021, unveiled in October last year, was equipped with the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, and now the only surviving MacBook Pro family from 2020 will provide the M2 chip.
The M2 chip used in the MacBook Pro is powered by an eight-core CPU and a ten-core GPU.
Apple says its new laptop, thanks to the M2, runs up to 3.4 times faster than the latest version of Intel’s MacBook Pro with Intel Core i7 processor and uses hardware accelerators for the ProRes codec to improve the processing experience of such videos.
Also, maintaining the design of the 2020 model has made this laptop have a cooling fan, unlike the MacBook Air 2022, so it can expect that this laptop will show better performance stability than the MacBook Air M2 in heavy processing. Prices for the MacBook Pro M2 start at $ 1,299 for the 256GB model with 8GB of RAM and will go on sale next month.
