Presentation Of Hidden Menus In Google Docs

After A Major Redesign Of Google Docs, Smart Formatting Continues To Expand, Allowing Users To Create Custom Building Blocks And Collapsible Headings.

Now in the web version of Google Docs, it is possible to collapse and expand the menus to “check the content more easily and hide parts of larger documents.”

Editors can set the default behavior of menus to expanded or collapsed, and users with a view and comment access can zoom in and out when opening a document, and closing it will not apply the changes to the editor.

Users have requested this feature to make it easier to check the content. In the coming weeks, Google Docs hidden menus will be available for both Workspace users and personal Google accounts.

Meanwhile, Workspace users can create custom building blocks in Google Docs, including text and tables, with the ability to reuse, save, and insert into other documents.

For example, when creating a product launch checklist, you might want to create a template to track milestones and tasks or even a block of code or text used in your organization. Now it is possible to reuse the designed pattern instead of redesigning the blocks, and you can copy and paste the desired way.

Custom building blocks can also be assigned an optional name and description. They appear at the bottom of the @ menu and when searching.

Custom building blocks will be available in the coming weeks.
