Microsoft's Exclusive VPN For EDGE Browser

Microsoft’s Exclusive VPN For EDGE Browser

Microsoft Is Strengthening The Security Of Its Edge Browser By Adding A Dedicated Vpn To The Stable Version Of The Browser.

In this regard, the secure network function of the Microsoft Edge browser, which was officially introduced a little more than a year ago and tested in Edge Canary, will be completed.

Microsoft’s proprietary VPN is not yet available in the stable version of the Edge browser for everyone, but it will be released to the general public soon. This VPN can encrypt the Edge web browser and protect personal data from online attacks. This feature can be helpful when using public and unsecured Wi-Fi networks.

The official provider of this VPN is not Microsoft. This American company uses Cloudflare technology to implement this service in its web browser. Microsoft VPN is free, and Microsoft provides one gigabyte of bandwidth per month by default.

Three levels of security are offered by this VPN, which may be customized from the Settings > Privacy menu.

If you choose the first option, the VPN will automatically activate only the websites on your preset list.

The second option is the optimized mode. Microsoft says Optimized Mode “automatically protects your traffic when using public Wi-Fi, unsecured networks, or accessing sites without valid certificates (HTTP).” The company suggests that you also enable this option by default.

When the third option, “All Sites,” the last level of security, is enabled, Microsoft’s proprietary VPN may be used for all browser traffic, including audio and video streaming. This option is a protection that should only be used in urgent situations, as the entire free monthly volume may be used up quickly.

To use Microsoft VPN, you must link your Microsoft account to Edge. The Microsoft VPN icon is a shield on the right side, above the browser window. You can see the remaining volume for VPN use by clicking on it.

Microsoft will soon announce the cost of using VPN data volume beyond the complimentary limit for people who want to use more books.
