Macro Photography And Stunning Display Of Butterfly Wings

Macro Photography Is One Of The Fascinating Branches Of The World Of Photography That Shows A Stunning View Of The World Hidden From Our Eyes.

Macro photography is an excellent opportunity to appreciate the beauty and wonder of the world right before us but not visible. Meanwhile, several handsome photographers went to photograph insects to record this hidden world.

We often deal with creatures daily, but perhaps we have never managed to watch them from such an angle. The photographer whose work we are watching today has chosen one of the most colorful insects in the world for photography, and the result of his efforts is genuinely spectacular.

In this magazine, we will listen to “Chris Perani” words to learn a little more about his activity and the purpose of this type of photography.

I never imagined that one day I’d be running around with a butterfly net trying to trap dragonflies and butterflies, but that’s precisely what I did two summers ago where I live north of San Francisco.

The nature of this area is charming and spectacular, with a stunning display of attractive waterfalls, giant trees, and green hills.

But when summer and heat arrive, the waterfalls gradually dry up, and the charming green color of the mountain is replaced by a brown and depressing color, and there is nothing pleasant to photograph.

When I first started, I was fascinated by the stunning beauty of this new world right before our eyes. For this reason, once the summer season arrived, I challenged myself and tried to choose other beauties of the nature around me as photography subjects, and this decision was made at the same time as buying a macro lens. But right from the moment I got into macro photography, I knew that this purchase would be a giant leap in my professional career and eventually lead me to “extreme macro.”

Once I went to nature and was taking pictures, I noticed new things. This time, the texture and patterned lines on tree leaves, flower petals, and water drops that made a stunning pattern on the spider’s web attracted my attention. And it was here that I saw more and more of the strange and magical world around me and decided to watch even this world with more clarity and clarity. On the other hand, I realized that insects should be one of the subjects of my work, although I needed insects that would not move and allow me to photograph them in the studio space. Soon the freezer was full of different species of insects that I had trapped.

But with the arrival of autumn, a new problem faced me because as the weather got colder, there were no more insects left to photograph. Finally, in October, I had practically caught no new insects. Around this time, I decided to visit the San Francisco Academy of Sciences to photograph insects and butterflies in the Academy’s rainforest exhibit. After finishing the work, I noticed a table full of microscopes and butterfly wings. This opportunity allowed me to look at more details of the butterfly wings, which showed me what my next project would be about. Infinite macro photography of insects was what I had in mind.

By getting similar equipment, I started photographing insects, but the work did not go as quickly as I imagined and was often accompanied by disappointing experiences; Minor mistakes such as the shaking of the table, the heat of the environment, a little dust or even walking in the studio could spoil the results of all the efforts, The result was a blurry and low-quality photo.

Despite all these difficulties, the result of efforts can be seen. After hard work, stress, and worry, a final but fantastic image has been obtained, resulting from 2100 separate exposures, all merged and displayed in the form of a single image. During this project, I used 10x and 5x microscope equipment and a 200mm lens attached to them.

Manually adjusting the lens was difficult, so I resorted to using a unique rail that didn’t move the lens more than three microns per shot. Another issue was the height of the subject. Since the depth of field is so out of focus and invisible in macro photography, I had to focus on the subject before I started mentally. For this reason, each image was considered as six separate pieces, which after finishing the work, were merged with the help of Photoshop software and created the final product.
