Interesting Photos Of Abandoned Places In Japan

If Your Curiosity Is Activated By Seeing Abandoned Places And You Like To Reveal The Secret Of These Places By Telling Stories, We Recommend Not To Miss This Part Of The Shutter.

Romain Villon went to Japan two years ago to photograph abandoned buildings. In this project, he photographed hotels, parks, and decaying and abandoned houses where human life once flowed.

I could tell many stories about what lies behind these images, But I prefer the audience to use their imagination and tell stories about the history of these places, what happened to them, and the people who once walked in them.

Below you can see the unique places that Waylon had the chance to photograph.

The first and most crucial step in location photography is to find the location you want to photograph! Spending a lot of time on the internet and doing online research is the basis of this. Of course, face-to-face meetings.

With friends, networking or talking to strangers can sometimes lead to surprising discoveries. Most of the time, information or articles online with small clues lead to the best finds. Asking the municipality and officials can also be a very reliable source of information.

For me, traveling to the selected location may be the most tedious part of the job. I usually travel light, So I only bring the essentials and the regular 14-24 lens.

The next step is to plan and organize a trip to photograph several of those locations you’ve found.

After reaching the desired place, I try to discover it and immerse myself in its atmosphere and history. I want my photos to reflect the feeling I had there when I walked around the building. Additionally, I always shoot the location with as much light as possible to bring it to life.

I usually only spend a little time editing and processing my photos. If I can work on the image in under 5 minutes, the essential part of the work is the lighting; I have done well. If needed, I will improve the contrast and temperature. Image symmetry is also important.

I always try to focus when photographing a building or room so that the photo is close to my desired result. I need to ensure that the light in the dark part of the image is good. Of course, sometimes there may be a sunbeam or other problems, and I must spend more time editing it.

My work is not about coming up with new ideas but finding new places or subjects to photograph! Finding intact castles and traveling to them is the most challenging part of my job.
