Microsoft has made significant improvements to Immersive Reader in version 94 of Edge. This version makes it possible to remove ads and visual elements, and photos and change the font type and background color to make users focus more on the text.

In this version of Microsoft Edge, the Redmondians have improved the functional feature of Sleeping Tabs. Sleeping Tabs or Performance Mod allows you to optimize speed, response time, memory consumption, CPU consumption, and even battery consumption. This mode causes the opened tabs to go to sleep after a certain period of time, and their processing load is removed from the CPU and RAM.

Currently, in the official version of Microsoft Edge, the minimum time to use the Sleeping Tabs feature is at least five minutes. Still, in version 94 of Microsoft Edge, the tabs can fall asleep after thirty seconds.

All of these new enhancements are available in Microsoft Edge Dev v94.0.982.2. If you are interested in using these features, you can download the Dev Edge version here. Microsoft Edge is released in three different trial versions: the Beta version is updated every four weeks, the Dev version is updated weekly, and the Canary version is updated daily.
