There are a few select bots that I recommend for specific functions as well. Finding a good bot is hard because there are so many more that people just created and coded without much debugging. Even commonly used bots are sometimes buggy.

In this article, we cover our top recommended bots that work. We’ll also cover how to fine-tune a bot once it’s on your server.

MEE6

MEE6 is a great general bot. You only run the free version without needing the paid version (although the paid version adds many amazing features).

With the free version, you can welcome new members, listen to voice-chat music, react to less, and more.

The MEE6 is an amazing starter bot, especially if you haven’t had much experience with a bot before.

It is extremely easy to understand and edit the dashboard of this robot. The various command features are also very simple to navigate and allow editing commands easily.

We can use this bot to show how to set up a bot on our server.

Most larger servers have at least this bot on their server to moderate. The next few are for more customization that I recommend adding to your spell.

Dyno

Dyno is a robot that is very similar to MEEOn on the other hanDyno d, allows more customization options, and is a bit more complicated to understand.

I recommend this bot for people who use bots on Discord. Dyno is much more sophisticated and has many more options to choose from, including many of the features MEE6 offers. I still prefer the MEE6 as a watchdog because it’s much simpler. Using both of these bots will strengthen your server.

Server Captcha Bot

This bot is a good way to set up a firewalThishis you can prevent people from entering other servers by asking for your authentication.

This bot will send DMs (personal messages) to new members who sen d ! verify to the designated chat. Here they have to complete a Captcha before they can access more servers. This bot doesn’t do anything other than thverifyingify users, but it helps to ensure a bot doesn’t attack your server.

To begin, you need to go to the bot. When you are on the bot site, there should be something on it that says something like invite bot or add bot to server. Next, click on it:

When you click on the Add bot button, you should go through a window that asks you to grant access to certain permissions. Click author, size, and the bot should be added to your server.

You will now notice the new bot should appear on the right side, where the server members are lisear. For this example, I will use MEE6.

For other b,ots, you may have to DM them commands, or they may have a very different layout for their dashboard.

However, the basics will generally be the same. The first thing you need to do is set up a chat that holds all the commands for the bot and only allows bots to send and receive messages through this bot channel.

To change the bots permissions, I recommend creating a bot role, and when bright-click tick on the bot chat, go to the edit chat option.

Now, you can find the Permissions tab. First, add the bot role to the permissions list or the specific bot whose permissions you want to change.

Here you can change bot permissions related to this channel. I also recommend removing permissions to send or receive messages in all other chats for this bot to prevent this bot from interfering and cluttering the chats.

When you get to the Permissions, you select the Robot role.

Then find the “Send Messages” permission. This permission must be checked fa or bot-optimized chat.

For all other chats, you must select the red X to prevent bots from sending messages in any other chats. I recommend changing permissions by categ,ory, so you don’t have to go to each individual chat and manually change each specific permission.

Now we can go to the MEE6 dashboard and start changing certain options. I recommend starting MEE6 by adding a welcome message to a welcome chat.

First, go to your MEE6 dashboard and find the option that says Welcome.

By selecting this option, the following page will be displayed.

In this section, select the designated channel to go to these welcome messages. First, you need to make sure that the welcome message option is enabled:

Once you’ve done all this, every time a new member joins your server, they should be greeted with a welcome card and a mess from your server.

You cannot change the welcome card using the free version of MEE6; however, if you get Premium, you can change the appearance of the welcome card and personalize it.

There are more options in the MEE6 dashboard that you can e. However, for now, we’ll focus on the welcome message.
