How to Boot from a USB Drive on Windows 10 PC

If you have Windows 10 on your computer, creating a boot flash memory from your operating system is not a bad idea. This allows you to install or uninstall the Windows system whenever necessary (for example, in cases where Windows does not start or does not connect to the Internet). This article will teach you how to create a Windows 10 flash boot.

Before starting, the following are required:

Strong and reliable internet connection
Flash memory with at least 8 GB of free space

Windows 25 character code (you do not need this code if you buy the full version)

How to make Windows 10 boot flash memory using Media Creation Tool software

This software is the best program available for this task, officially provided by Microsoft. To create a Windows 10 bootable flash drive, you must first download the Media Creation Tool software. Then run it and select Create installation for another PC. Finally, select the USB flash drive option and wait for the installation to finish.

1- Connect a flash drive to your computer. It is better to format your flash drive once.

2- Then download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool software. From this site or anywhere else you like.

3- Double click on the MediaCreationToolxxxx.exe file to run it. This file is probably located in the system’s Downloads folder or the folders you specified for your downloaded files. The last four digits of the file name specify the version of Windows 10 you need.

4- Now click on Accept in the opened window.

5- Select Create installation media and then click Next.

6- In this step, you must specify the language, structure, and version of Windows that you want to be installed as a boot on the flash memory. Of course, you can use the current default options of your system by checking the recommended options for this PC box. You can also change all these options by clicking the arrow at the end of their box. If you doubt choosing your system architecture (64-bit or 32-bit), you can select the Both option from the Architecture menu.

7- Now select the USB flash drive option and click on Next.

8- This time, select the desired drive and click on Next. If more than one external device is connected to your system and you don’t know which drive you want to boot, you can remove all of them except the flash drive you want. If you don’t see the desired drive, click on the Refresh drive list option.

Media Creation Tool will now install the latest Windows 10 on your system. This process takes about 30 minutes.

9- Finally, click on Finish.

To ensure Windows Boot is installed on the flash drive, enter File Explorer and check the system drives in the This PC section. The USB drive has probably been renamed USB-ESD (Electronic Software Delivery). After entering this drive, you will see the boot files and a setup.exe file.

Now, if you need to install or uninstall a Windows, you need to connect the flash drive to the system and reboot it. With this, the computer will allow you to reinstall Windows. If this process does not occur, you can start the installation by double-clicking the setup.exe file on the flash drive.

Note: Before installing Windows 10, check the hardware of your computer or laptop in terms of system compatibility with this Windows.
