Tips Before Buying an Asus Laptop (All Asus laptop series)
When it comes to different laptop brands, Asus Laptop is one of the ones that offers the best hardware available. Asus has everything from personal computer components to monitors or laptops.
Although Asus offers good laptops, there are too many of them. The many series of this brand have different applications, prices, designs, and hardware, which makes it difficult for you to choose the right laptop.
That’s why we have prepared this Asus laptop buying guide, which introduces the company’s laptop collection separately so that you can get to know them more.
1- Asus VivoBook series (regular series)
The Asus Vivo book is the flagship of this series. These laptops, which are designed for home use, currently come with Windows 10 Home version. Some of these laptops come with Windows and in S mode, but the buyer can change the settings in the settings. Convert the operating system to normal and complete Windows 10. ASUS vivoBook can be made with a 14-inch, 15.6-inch or 17.3-inch screen.
The CPUs used include 11th-generation Intel Core processors and Ryzen 5000 series processors. There are also cases for low-end NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon GPUs. The Vivobook series has some interesting features, like a fingerprint sensor for Windows Hello and an illuminated numeric keypad integrated with the trackpad.
2- Asus VivoBook S series (middle class)
The VivoBook S series is slightly higher than the VivoBook series. These laptops are considered to be other than ordinary home, office, and student laptops, but they come with a more stylish design and slightly better features. ASUS VivoBook S series laptops are also available with Windows 10 Home. The screen size of this series is 13.3 inches, 14 inches, and 15.6 inches. VivoBook S13 are actually the best laptop of 2021.
The CPUs used are 11th-generation Intel Core and AMD Ryzen 5000 processors. The GPUs used are NVIDIA GeForce and AMD Radeon Vega. These VivoBooks are slightly better, with some SKUs sporting features like Thunderbolt 4 USB-C. In this category, you get much better hardware, which is suitable for people who need more than just a laptop for everyday tasks.
3- Asus VivoBook Pro series (powerful gaming class)
vivoBook Pro series are the higher end of vivoBook. These laptops are only available in a 15.6-inch model. Although Asus still offers these laptops on its website, it hasn’t updated them in a while.
The website touts the VivoBook Pro as a customizable laptop with 9th Gen Intel Core processors and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 GPUs. These laptops come with Windows 10 Home and not Pro. The only somewhat professional feature of these laptops is that they have a screen with a resolution of up to 4K and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Of course, these videos are no longer available for sale, and even if you find one, we do not recommend buying them.
4- Asus VivoBook Flip series (can be converted and used as a tablet)
Asus has several laptops that come with a 360-degree hinge that allows the laptop to be used as a tablet. This conversion feature is borrowed from the Flip brand and is exactly what is used in the vivoBook Flip series. If you are looking for a versatile vivobook that you can use as a tablet, these models are suitable for you. Asus flip vivobooks are offered in two sizes, more with a 14-inch screen than the outdated 11.6-inch size!
You can use a combination of Windows 10 Home and Pro for the operating system. The used CPUs are up to the 11th generation Intel Core i7 and the graphics processors are AMD Ryzen 5000 series chips. Asus also offers a pen with these laptops. Its thin, light design goes well with the swivel mode, making this series a great mid-range ultra-portable laptop.
5- Asus ZenBook series (ordinary power with excellent screen quality)
ZenBook is one of Asus’ main laptop series. Asus sells ZenBook series laptops under the title of high quality, thin and light. In this series, a good balance has been established in terms of portability and power. These are mid-range and high-end laptops and have a total of five sub-series.
The basic ZenBook category has many options, such as ZenBook 13, ZenBook 14, and ZenBook 15, whose screen sizes are 13.3 inches, 14 inches and 15.6 inches, respectively. The screen of ZenBook 13 is OLED.
The ZenBook series is perfect for both everyday use and professional work. Windows 10 Home is used in these laptops. The CPUs have been updated according to the latest features of 2021 and support up to the 11th generation of Intel Core. GPUs are part of AMD’s Ryzen 5000 series. ZenBook 13 and 14 GPUs include low-end NVIDIA and AMD chips. However, the ZenBook 15 features NVIDIA’s dedicated GPU, which is limited to the GTX 1650 Max-Q. 4K quality is also used in the screens.
6- Asus ZenBook S series (medium power with excellent screen quality)
The ZenBook S is the next entry in the ZenBook series, which currently offers only one model, the ZenBook S UX393. Only Intel CPUs with the 11th generation Core i7 processor are used in these laptops. Its 13.9-inch 3.3K touchscreen display with a 3:2 aspect ratio sets this series apart. This ultra-portable laptop, with its great design, is considered among the first-class items and is definitely unique in the ZenBook collection.
7- Asus ZenBook Pro series (great power with great screen quality)
The ZenBook Pro series actually includes laptops that deserve the Pro title. This series has only two models: ZenBook Pro 15 and ZenBook Pro Duo 15. Both have OLED screens up to 4K in size 15.6 inches. Currently, only 10th-generation Intel CPUs are used in the Pro laptops, while the Pro Duo has dual screens and up to a 10th generation Core i9 processor.
The Pro Duo has a famous screen, ScreenPad Plus, which is above the keyboard. The graphics processor is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti for Pro and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 for Pro Duo. It is very strange, but Asus offers these Pro laptops with Windows 10 Home and not Pro. But again, these laptops are the best Asus laptops from the point of view of professionals.
8- Asus ZenBook Flip series (special and rotatable up to 360 degrees)
The ZenBook Flip series includes convertible laptops from Asus. ZenBook Flip has a premium design, a thin and light form, and a 360-degree hinge. You have three screen size choices: 13.3-inch, 14-inch, and 15.6-inch screens. There is no mention of AMD in the CPUs of these models and only 11th generation Intel Core i7 chips have been used.
Space constraints limit the ZenBook Flip 13 and 14 GPUs to Intel’s integrated Iris Xe. But the ZenBook Flip 15 has an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti graphics card. The screen of these laptops is OLED, which has Full HD and 4K resolution. 4096 push pen can be used in some models.
9- Asus ZenBook Duo series (two screens)
ZenBook Duo comes with a very nice secondary display above the keyboard called ScreenPad Plus. This version is lower than ZenBook Pro Duo and has a 10th generation Intel processor. NVIDIA GeForce MX250 is considered for the graphics processor. Windows 10 Home and Pro are the operating systems that can be seen in these laptops. Asus hasn’t used 11th Gen Intel in the Duo yet, but if it does, these laptops will be great.
10- Asus Chromebook (with Chrome operating system)
Chromebooks have gained a lot of popularity in recent years and Asus has few models in this collection. These laptops are available in various sizes, such as the 10.5-inch Asus Chromebook tablet with a detachable keyboard, as well as 11.6-, 12-, 14-, and 15.6-inch sizes. Chromebooks 12, 14, and 15 also have options under the Flip brand that can be converted into a laptop or tablet.
Processors include Intel Celeron, Pentium and 11th generation Intel Core i7 as well as AMD Ryzen 5 3000 series.
Chromebooks are thin and light and have longer battery life than typical Windows laptops, making them great options for students.
Asus launches the ExpertBook series in its business laptop category. These are corporate laptops that focus on productivity. All these laptops come with Windows 10 Pro and 11th generation Intel Core i7 chips. Expertbooks has models that are known as “military-grade” in terms of durability: the original P series and the premium B series.
B series has better features and design. Asus ExpertBook B9 can be called the lightest business laptop in the world. These laptops are graphically integrated and some models have a touchpad numeric keyboard.
12- Asus ProArt StudioBook series (very powerful workstation)
The Asus ProArt series includes truly professional laptops. These laptops are designed for professionals and have two types: a 15.6-inch screen or a 17-inch screen. Asus has only used Intel processors in the series; you can choose between the 9th generation Intel Core i7, i9, and Xeon chips used. In terms of graphics processors, Asus has used RTX 2060, Quadro RTX 3000, 5000 and 6000 chips. The screens in these laptops also have a 4K UHD resolution
Other Asus laptops
We talked about Asus laptops in general in this guide, but this section is dedicated to Asus laptops that are outside of the Asus product line. Although these have a number of sub-sets within themselves, Asus offers them all together under Asus tablets-laptops, so we introduce them in one place. A summary of the different series of Asus brand is as follows:
- BR and W series: lightweight and energy-efficient netbooks with Intel Pentium processors designed for use in the classroom.
- E Series: Thin, light, inexpensive laptops with Celeron and Intel Pentium processors designed for home and student use.
- L series: light-weight and low-power laptops with Intel Pentium processors that are made for everyday use.
- M Series: These are regular everyday laptops with AMD chipsets that have been updated with the latest Ryzen 5000 processors.
- NovaGo: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon powers this “always connected” laptop.
- X Series: General-purpose laptops with Intel Core and Celeron processors.
