Unfortunately in Windows, some problems can be a little troublesome, some of these problems can be from third-party programs or some patches related to programs, also the problem can be from Windows 10 or the hardware used in the computer. Possible solutions could be installing new drivers, manipulating and changing audio settings, or even restoring from a backup.

In the first steps, we will solve the problem with easier and simpler solutions, and if your problem is not solved, you can try other ways that are written in this article on your system.

Easy ways

In the first step, to make sure that the problem is a little more complicated and requires major changes to your operating system, it is best to first check the sound of your system to make sure that you did not accidentally mute it, often this happens that we accidentally turned off the sound of our system and we didn’t notice it.

In this case, if your keyboard has volume keys, you can solve this problem by increasing the volume and there is no need to install drivers or other things, you can also raise the taskbar to check the problem for you, to do this click on the x-shape in front of your speaker, as you know the x-shape in front of the speaker means no sound.

You may also notice that your system sound is completely muted or a minor problem, for example, your speakers may have volume buttons, or you may accidentally unplug your speaker power cord or unplug the power supply.

Also, headsets and microphones may have a volume control on their wires, and you may have muted or disconnected them from the computer.

Another solution could be that a specific program or software has been cut off from within the sound, this problem could be due to the lack of sound patches and a decrease in the volume of the game itself. For example. The volume controller in the YouTube app itself.

Also, one of the solutions that may sometimes work for you is to install new Windows 10 updates or restart your computer.

Set the audio output

Normally your system output is your only speaker connected to your computer, but over time these outputs may increase, for example, if you are using an HTC Vive or an Xbox controller or a headset. The output may have more options for audio playback.

You may have decided to use your laptop speakers, but the system will still output to the disconnected headset. You can use two methods to make sure that the default audio output mode is right for you, either through the Taskbar or through the control panel.

Taskbar Route

Click on the speaker icon next to the clock, then you will see a list of names of all available outputs, click on the desired output to make the sound audible to you, if you do not hear a sound, click on all of them, click to make the sound audible to you if none of them work for you, click Run the Troubleshooter.

Turn off Audio Enhancements

There are a number of features and upgrades in Windows 10, which were done by Microsoft to give users a better user experience of Windows and media, although this may be one of the problems that caused the sound to be cut off.

Type the word Control Panel in the search bar.

In the control panel window, click on Hardware and Sound, and on the next screen in front of you, click on Sound. From the top tabs, go to the Playback section, click on the desired audio output, and then right-click and select the Properties option.

Updating driver

Updating laptop and computer drivers are one of the best ways to solve problems in the system for which there is no clear answer. Drivers are responsible for communicating and coordinating the hardware and software of computers, some manufacturers Laptops such as Dell and HP come with driver update software.

Alienware systems and laptops, for example, come with their own software called Support Assist, which updates outdated drivers.

Another way you can update your drivers is by using the updates inside the Windows 10 operating system, just right-click on the Windows icon and select Device Manager, now the window in front of you is all the connected devices to your system, in this section, click on Sound, video and game controllers.

Now you can see all the audio players and categories connected to your system, click on it to update the driver you want, then right-click and select Update Driver.

On this page, there are two options for the user that can manually enter the driver file separately on his computer, or use the Search automatically option so that the system automatically searches for updates on the Internet.

It goes without saying that sometimes deleting updates can be a good option for solving the sound problem.

As we said, many of the ways mentioned above may not work for you or your system may not respond at all, in which case we recommend that you consider buying a sound card, in which case the task of voice processing is less heavy from your motherboard and your problem may be solved.
