0x80131500: Fixing the Microsoft Store Error

Microsoft Store allows its users to download and install various programs in Windows 10. Although the Microsoft Store is usually considered among the error-free functions of the Windows operating system, sometimes, when using this feature, you encounter problems such as error code 0x80131500 that occurs when you try to launch the Microsoft Store. Method 1: Run the Windows Store Troubleshooter

To do this, follow the steps below:

Troubleshooter is a Windows troubleshooter that can help you in many cases and is one of the first things you should go to when a problem occurs in Windows. This tool is designed to diagnose and solve your computer problems.

1- Click on Start or the Windows logo in the lower left.

Instead, you can press the Windows key on your keyboard.

2- Click on Settings.

Click on the gear icon to open Windows Settings.

3- Click on the Update and Security tab.

In this way, you will be transferred to the Update section.

4- Click on Troubleshoot on the left side.

In this step, you will be shown troubleshooters that you can use to fix your computer problems.

5- Click on Additional Troubleshooters on the right side.

This will show you more troubleshooting.

6- Scroll down to find Windows Store apps. Then click on it. This option is located in the Find and Fix other problems tab.

7- Click on Run the Troubleshooter. This will open a new window, and Windows will search for and identify the problems.

8- After the troubleshooting process of Windows Store programs is complete and no problem is detected, click on the Close and Exit Settings Section.

If the Windows troubleshooter detects a problem, it offers specific solutions. After running the Windows Store troubleshooter, check if the Code 0x80131500 error persists.

Method 2: Reset the Windows Store cache

If the cache becomes too full, it will cause problems. So be sure to reset the Windows Store cache every once in a while.

To do this, follow the steps below:

1- In the search bar at the bottom left, type Command Prompt.

2- From the given results, right-click the command prompt and click on Run as Administrator from the drop-down menu.

3- In the Command prompt window, type “were set” and press Enter. Wait for the command reset process to complete. Windows Store will launch automatically after the process completes.

After resetting the Windows Store cache, check to see if the error problem is resolved.

Method 3: Check your date and time settings

Method 4: Change the region settings on the computer

Method 5: Change DNS settings

Another way to solve this error is to change the default DNS settings. To do this, follow the steps below:

1- Press Windows + R together from the keyboard to open the RUN dialog box.

2- In this box, type “ncpa. CPL” and press Enter or click OK to open the Network Connections section.

3- Right-click on your active network and select Properties from the drop-down menu.

4- Find Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) in the Wi-Fi profile window. Click on it and then click on Properties.

5- In the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) window, click the “Use the following DNS server addresses” option.

6- Set Preferred DNS Server to 8.8.8.8.

7- Set the Alternate DNS server to 8.8.4.4.

8- Click OK to apply the settings and then exit the window.

9- Click OK to exit the Wi-Fi Properties window.

Now check if the error is fixed or not.

Method 6: Reset the Windows Store application

You can reset the Windows Store if the previous methods do not work. Like any other computer program, this program gives an error message when a problem occurs. In this case, your error message is Code 0x80131500. Follow the steps below to reset the Windows Store:

1- Right click on the Start button.

2- Click on Apps and Features.

3- At the bottom of the Apps and Features section, find the Microsoft Store option.

4- Click on Advanced options.

5- Click on the Reset tab.

6- With this, the message “This will permanently delete the app’s data on this device, including your preferences and sign-in details” will appear, which tells you that this will permanently delete the app’s data on this device, including settings. Select and delete log in details. Click Reset to confirm.7- Now restart your computer.

After the computer restarts completely, check if the Code 0x80131500 error persists or is resolved.
