Many actions can be performed by Zone Editor, the most common of which were mentioned. In the following, we will provide explanations about them. Please stay with us.

Connecting the site to the download host

If you have a download host, you need to take some steps to connect it to the main site. In the first step, you should order the download host with the desired subdomain. This subdomain can be dl.yourdomain.com; instead of yourdomain.com, you should enter your website address. After placing the order in the account information of the download host, there is a download host IP that you must enter and create in the host of the main site through A Record.

To do this, proceed as follows in the cPanel host:

  • Login to cPanel
  • Click on Zone Editor in the DOMAINS section
  • Click on A Record + for the desired domain
  • Enter the desired record in the Name field
  • Enter the IP address of the download host in the Address field
  • Click on Add an A Record

Definition of Child Host

When a domain needs dedicated DNS and is considered as an Owner or Provider (such as hosting companies), it needs this capability and record definition. Of course, it should be noted that the main Child Host is done in the domain management control panel and at the end it is confirmed in the host by creating a record. The way to create Child host is similar to connecting the download host to the site and it is done with A Record. The only difference is that usually two to four records are needed for Child Host.

Definition of verification keys

These are often created by default by the DNS Server. With these keys (SPF, DKIM) it is possible to confirm to the e-mail recipients that the e-mail was sent from the main owner of the desired domain and can be verified.

Define or change the default prefix

As you know, www is the default prefix for all sites on the web. This value can be defined or changed by Zone Editor. Additional values can also be added with a CNAME record.

Changing time units of records

Time units of records are usually detected and set automatically. If you need to change the time units of the records, you should click on the Manage option on the Zone Editor page and use the Edit option to make changes. It should be noted that these items are very sensitive and if you do not have the necessary technical knowledge about them, do not make any changes
