The Epson International Awards, The World’s Largest Panorama Photography Competition, has announced its 2021 Winners. In This Round Of Competitions, A Panorama Of A Misty Cypress Tree Took The Top Prize.
The Epson International Competition was founded in 2009 by Australian landscape photographer David Evans and is supported by Epson Australia. Since then, the competition has evolved into a collaboration between professional photographers, industry professionals, and sponsors.
This competition showcases the works of panoramic photographers around the world. This year’s event received 5,378 jobs from 1,245 professional and amateur photographers from 97 countries. Of these, 2,646 were free entries, 2,619 were amateur entries, and 113 were virtual reality or 360-degree entries.
Photographers competed for $40,000 worth of prizes, including $13,500 in cash (of which $3,000 goes to first place), a trophy, an Epson Surecolor P7070 printer, and other awards.
Race director David Evans says of this year’s event:
We thought 2020 would be a challenging year, But 2021 changed everything and improved it. This year’s works were notable despite the Corona epidemic and many other challenges.
Once again, we were impressed by the level of support from applicants and sponsors, especially Epson. Thank you all, and congratulations to this year’s winners and participants.

Freelance Photographer of the Year and overall winner
- Photographer name: Joshua Herman
The overall winner of the 2021 Freelance Photographer competition was Joshua Herman from the United States. His three works, “Eternal Triangle,” “Dawn Burn,” and “Ancient Marsh,” respectively, impressed the jury enough to award him the top prize.
Herman says about his position in this competition:
I am proud that I could be among other talented photographers in the free category and that my works can be seen among these beautiful images.
He also added:
Growing up in south Louisiana and familiar with marshes and swamps from a young age, this area’s unique beauty and exciting environment have impressed me throughout my life. I hope to share the beauty of these places through my pictures and give people the opportunity to have a closer look at the unique features of these areas. Finally, I would like my photos to inform people about the importance of protecting these wetlands.
