Travel To Portugal, Madeira Island, Alex Forrest, And Walk Through A Magical Grove Of Trees Under The Moonlight And Beautiful Sky.

Madeira is an archipelago located in the North Atlantic Ocean and is one of Portugal’s only two autonomous regions. Despite having only 289,000 inhabitants, this region is a prosperous and touristic region known for its beautiful natural scenery.

Alex Forrest is a 38-year-old photographer from Berlin. He moved to Switzerland from Berlin 8 years ago. He started photography almost five years ago. Alex loved the scenery of Switzerland from the beginning, But at first, They didn’t think about taking pictures.

At that time, he bought a motorbike and drove around the streets. Every time he tried to take a landscape photo with his phone, he didn’t get the feeling It wanted, So he bought a semi-professional camera (Sony a5100) and started shooting with it.

But those images also did not fully convey what he saw and felt at the moment. So he studied with interest different techniques, compositions, and post-processing.

Alex Forrest was visiting his sister near Porto a few years ago when he decided to visit Madeira, But he never expected what he found there.

It was the most exciting trip I have ever taken. I remember feeling absolute joy as I gazed down at the cloud-covered cliffs of Pico do Arriero. Later in my journey, I went to the Magic Tree Grove, one of my favorite spots in Madeira. I have no idea how trees can grow like this. Madeira is a mystical place that boils the pot of my creativity.

I found a photography group at night and saw pictures of the Milky Way for the first time in my life. I didn’t think they were real, so I tried them myself.

Most of my shots have a story, but I like viewers to tell the story of my photos themselves. I feel happy when someone gets emotional after seeing my pictures. We mostly get inspiration from movies and computer games. It’s easier to get a story and think from a film or a play than still photos.

According to Alex, the most challenging part of the creative process for him is post-processing. Over time, his photos become more and more complex. Some of his images are composed of hundreds of different pictures.

Alex combines them to reduce noise and increase the dynamic range of an image.

Planning the photos of this artist is a bit time-consuming. Everything must be perfect: location, weather, motivation, and sky direction. All this must be planned.
